A Tide Table/ Calculator, by Ralph Walker c.1795
Tidal calculations are used to try to make predictions about water levels in tidal waters. Typical calculations provide the high and low tide times and heights of a given location. More advanced calculations determine the water levels at times between high and low tide. Which was and is particularly important for sailing and anchoring.
