how would it have goon if, when Tommy and dream were stuck in prison together dream shrunk and Tommy's instincts took a front seat ?
Well first things first, this really reminds me of something I read on here involving Tommy and Dream. I don't remember who made it or when I read it but I do remember it being an au with predators and such, Dream lets himself be eaten as a sign of trust to apologize to Tommy, and in the end, he is let go but not forgiven. It was also not g/t.
If I can find it, I'll link it later on but if someone else finds it feel free to @ me!
One last side note before we get into this, for simplicity's sake, Tommy has a storage for this short story.
Edit from Future Nomie: It's not.

Tommy had grown used to the aching loneliness of his current life, but things were getting better. Yeah, he might have fucked things up with his family and Wilbur was dead... but he was learning to get out of the shitty programming in his brain.
Puffy made him understand how much had been done to his head, she helped him acknowledge the mental blocks and changes he'd built to protect himself and he was working on growing into a proper adult now that he was 17. He knew what Puffy had said, she had explained to him that he didn't need Dream's apology to heal.
It was described in a way he didn't want to admit he understood, even now, with the man who hurt him right in front of his face, he refused to listen to that tidbit of advice. "When a snake bites you, you run away and heal. You don't chase the snake and ask why it bit you."
He understands that Dream won't give him an answer, but that wasn't the reason he was here. He was here to talk and say goodbye, not ask him why. He was ready to put this part of his life in the past, he could only hope Dream would do the same. Tommy recognized that their relationship was unhealthy, he recognized that he wasn't good for him and he wanted to make sure they'd never have to be around each other again.
He was listening as the man began to say some random shit, speaking about something stupid. He was bringing up exile, trying to get in his head like he always did.
Tommy was on his final nerve, the man wouldn't shut his trap! He wanted Dream to just shut the fuck up! He wanted him to leave him alone for once in his life! He gave a glare as he felt his wings bristle behind his back, hands gripping the soft blue cardigan made of Friend's last shear. He could feel himself trembling as he stressed his still-healing leg and chewed the inside of his cheek.
Normally he'd yell. He'd scream and cry and beg until Dream finally forgave him or he hit him. Either way, both options felt bad. The avian could feel his brain scratching, wanting to slip into the mindset of a scared fledgling. The mindset he'd been in shortly after exile started when he was wung. But that was a story for another day as he stomped over towards the man.
Tommy knew how to handle himself, everyone knew this before the wars, during them, and even after. He could handle weapons, hand-to-hand, and even guns. So the look of surprise on Dream's face as Tommy shoved him against the obsidian wall and glared in his face. His arm was forced against his neck, pushing against him with a great amount of strength as he shifted his weight, they were in a position where if he moved his grip and threw him back he'd easily be thrown over his shoulder.
The man's mask had been confiscated when he'd first been locked up, but Tommy wouldn't have been surprised if he'd been given it back for... good behavior or some shit. Either way, he didn't really care about that right now. He wasn't used to having his eyes on him, he always knew they were watching but it was different without the mask. It was... empowering.
It was a reminder that Dream was human. Dream wasn't some god he couldn't even consider standing up to but now he knew he could.
"Shut, the fuck up." Tommy growled out, his wings flaring out behind him as the collage of black and red feathers. He knew some of them were crooked and he was well overdue for a preen but that didn't mean they weren't intimidating. He wanted him to just finally shut up and leave him alone. He was tempted to call out for Sam, to beg for another figure here to keep Dream in check, but right now he knew it wasn't an option. He's been trapped in here with the bastard for a few days now and he was at his limit.
"For once in your prime forsaken life, shut the fuck up and leave me alone." He snarled, pushing Dream's head up and forcing him to look up at the roof of their cell. He heard a choked noise slip past the ram's lips and Tommy dropped him.
The avian stepped back, lifting his hands and bringing them up to his face. He looked down at him, watching as the man slid down the wall. He was clearly being a little overdramatic but the wide grin that spread across his face told Tommy everything he needed to know. Dream had a sickening smile that seemed to just grow as he burst into cackling laughter.
He was laughing and seemed unable to stop as he spoke. "You're just like me, Tommy." He said ecstatically, "You've killed people, you've killed me. There is no difference between the two of us." The way these words left him sounded so matter-of-fact, like nothing Tommy could say or do would change his opinion.
All the avian could do was clench his teeth and dig his fingernails into his palms. He stepped back towards the opposite wall and let his weight slide into the farthest corner. He felt nervous and unsure as he covered his ears, wings wrapping over his limps and covering his body. He was shaking, partly rocking himself to feel a sense of security and safety as he closed his eyes.
ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁💿𐰁 𝗓 ᶻ𐰁 𝗓 ᶻ
By the time he'd finally opened his eyes, Tommy hadn't even realized he'd been asleep. The last two days he's been in here he hadn't managed to get a wink of sleep and he'd finally reached a point he couldn't help it anymore. Of course, it had to happen after such a huge argument. He let his wings unfurl, blinking at the glow of lava as he let his eyes drift over his surroundings.
The avian should have been happy that he was alone, honest, but... why would they take Dream out.. and not him.
It made no sense.
Panic swelled in his chest as he got to his feet, his tennis shoes squeaking as he scrambled from the floor. He ignored the crook in his neck and the soreness of his back to instead look around. He could feel his chest heave with each breath, panic swelling heavy and constricting his lungs like a snake.
Of course, it all went back to that fucking snake. He could feel anger bubbling where it wasn't before and such but he didn't really care...
He could feel himself spiraling, a panic attack like before. When Puffy had first explained what they were he'd felt.. angry. Angry that he couldn't control himself, he had to be in control or... or something would go wrong.
His breathing was hitching and he felt like he wouldn't be able to fix it before too much longer. He wanted to scream out and beg for someone to just take the pain and throw it into the deepest pit. A deep pit where his feelings of resentment, anger, fear, and sadness could live rent-free and not bother him. He needed to just feel nothing. His eyes drifted over everything examining the corners of the room and trying to find any signs of what could be going on. He needed to calm himself down.
He did what Puffy said, counting things and colors he could see. The lava popped around 6 times in a minute, the cauldron of water was a gross green, and he could...
He could see...
Were those small feet?!
His panic was quickly overturned by his confusion. He could see small socked feet, peaking out from behind the chest. He took a second, catching his breath and whipping his eyes, before crouching down. He reached over, pulling the wooden trunk towards his form. It scraped across the ground, sounding like chalk on a board. If he hated the sound, then the owner of those green eyes, probably despised it.
His eyes widened at the sight of blonde hair and an orange jumpsuit, he probably would be more careful if it wasn't for the fact he knew exactly who he was staring at.
Dream was small. Smaller than Skeppy who was barely over 2 feet. If he had to make an educated guess, he was probably around 6 or so inches tall. The teen found himself staring at him, unable to properly comprehend the fact he was so tiny.
A frightened face told him everything he needed to know before he saw orange skitter past his face and in the direction of... well nothing? There wasn't anywhere for him to hide, so Tommy didn't understand what he was doing. It wasn't like it really mattered since as he watched him run, something triggered in his brain. A fuzzy sensation overtook him, his pupils blowing wide as the desire to catch the small creature overwhelmed him.
Tommy bounded forward, his wings flaring behind him as he flapped them. The avian hadn't expected this but he felt a coo escape his throat as he trapped the small form down with his hands. The avian knew he was being too rough but right now he couldn't bring himself to care. He was happy with hunting after something so small, something he could easily catch.
He scooped him up, happy as he sat on his knees and lifted his treat up near his face. He let his eyes drift over the small form, taking in the details of his little meal.
When did he start thinking of him as a meal? He didn't hesitate to look over him, seeing frightened green eyes turn to rage as their owner began to yell something. He couldn't quite make it out as he lifted them to his face and eagerly slipped the small form into his mouth.
His wings flapped, shedding a few stray feathers as he pushed the squirming form deeper into his maw, able to feel as it slipped on his saliva and flailed in what he assumed was fear. He didn't feel bothered by it, cooing still as he closed his lips around his catch's waist. He wanted to feel this sensation in his stomach, knowing he did a good job and caught something!
Phil was gonna be so-
Why was he thinking of Phil right now- wait why was he doing any of-
A chirped, feeling something hit the back of his throat. This would normally trigger someone's gag reflex but Tommy can only throw things up once they're in his stomach. He grinned to himself, swallowing as he felt the form slip into his esophagus. He gave a happy warble as he swallowed again, feeling as his catch squirmed down his throat. Tommy didn't hesitate to sigh as the shape slid past his collarbone and into his chest, leaning back and supporting himself with a hand. He felt a weight slip into his abdomen, hunger bleeding away as he fluttered his wings.
He couldn't help the relief that washed over him, a feeling of safety and contentment he'd never considered before as he glanced around a tad. He wanted to make a nest but there wasn't really anything he could use in this cell. He gave a tired chip, curling back where he'd been just minutes prior, and placed his hands on his stomach as his wings wrapped over him. Tommy was cooing and chirping to himself, lost in a haze of his natural desire.
He could feel something moving inside of him, the small ram he'd managed to catch and he was eager to feel this until he let them out.. Tommy curled closer to the corner, gently pushing against where his little friend sat, eager to let them tire out. It's not like they actually in any harm, at least some part of him knew he was fine. Either way... the bird had some sleep to catch up on.
Oml. I wrote this all in one sitting and finished at 3 am. Didn't expect it to go this long so I'm gonna schedule the post. I've watched three movies since I started and I might write a part two of Dream's point of view if anyone wants that. Also, this is completely non-fatal. I do dabble in that side of the spectrum but I don't think I'll post any of it on my Tumblr. Anyways! I hope this is what you wanted~
Speaking of less known AU, you can see from the over detailed design that this is young me giving myself the biggest middle finger ever. But that aside, the AU of the Day is the Mysterious Store of the Wandering Merchant or ram!Dream as I like to fondly call him.
He is the NPC storekeeper that sells you goods of mysterious source. He has inter-dimensional ability and can appear at places normal merchant definitely shouldn’t be. He gives prompt and tips to adventurers and definitely scams a few, but he means well, most of the times.
What would be the type of prices you’d find with Ram!Dream? Where does he cross the line at what he will and won’t do?
He is the questionable merchant that appears throughout your quest, so his price really varies on what he thinks you need/can afford, provided that the item will make your quest more interesting!
He doesn’t help you clear any boss, and generally won’t provide any service. He is more of an onlooker than a teammate!
wandering merchant Dream au small gift au <3
The sheep knows our sins

HIM!!!! You did all the detials in his design!!! And the sheep!!! Ahhh, such a pleasant gift to look at! I like the story book type vision this gives me! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I need to know more information about Mysterious Store of the Wandering Merchant! Dream/ Ram!Dream :D
(No art is necessary, I just would like to know more information about the au) :)
I appreciate the consideration! I am outstation so I wouldn’t be able to art properly anyways 🥹
Hmm, depending on what information you wish to know. The adventurers that are mentioned were supposed to be bench trio, with Tommy as the warrior, Tubbo as the druid and Ranboo as the wizard (d&d style) but let’s be honest, I ended up being more invested in focusing on only one of them.
Ram!Dream wears a mask during the initial meeting, as you spent more time and encounter with him, you will build enough trust and reputation that he would eventually reveal himself around you. He is perfectly capable of fighting but he loves to play damsel in distress. Occasionally he would have quest for the adventurer (like raw material/odd job gathering) to complete in exchange of rare goods that are not available elsewhere (e.g. Luck potion)
He has direct access to the boss of any area and will provide materials for the right price. You can say that he is business minded and will scam all equally. Because of that, he is well known as the neutral ground (mostly because those who have issues with that fact can’t defeat him).
I know this is a really overdue post! Sorry it's taken so long but here is the next chapter of the Trapped Dream AU! I've been pretty busy with college and work but I'm gonna try to get these chapters out more often.

Chapter 1 | Chapter 3
Tommy had expected more of a reaction from his older brother other than well... Laughter. Techno burst into loud and boisterous laughter when those words passed his lips, it confused him but he understood his brother’s point of view. It probably sounded crazy, one of the best fighters being beaten by some teenager.
The piglin hybrid was still laughing, leaning over the counter in the kitchen as Tommy anxiously hugged his abdomen. He felt nervous as his brother began to calm down, the avian watching as he caught his breath before speaking up.
“I need you to be serious with me Tommy.” His brother said simply, the humor still riding his voice as he spoke. The blonde could feel his nerves getting the better of him, he didn’t like being brushed off like some child. He was old enough to be treated and respected the same way anyone else would be. He gave a small glare as he spoke up.
“I am being serious, I ate Dream.” He said sternly. The avian’s wings opened behind him, the feathers flaring as he glared at the man. He knew Techno wasn’t trying to be mean. He knew full well it just didn’t sound like something real, but it was real! He had the bastard green teletubbie sitting in his body where he wouldn’t get out unless he let him out. Tommy watched as Techno’s face shifted through his emotions, a mix of uncertainty and astonishment.
“Okay, Okay,” Techno mumbled, it was pretty obvious his brother didn’t understand it or really believe him. The blonde knew the piglin didn’t want to know if this was true but he didn’t know how to prove this, if he coughed Dream up he’d either have him taken away, released, or maybe killed. None of them seemed like good options, he couldn’t bring himself to kill him. Dream may be his enemy and his killer, but he still couldn’t fully get himself out of the mindset from those years in exile.
He recognized the bad situation and how tragic it was to be trapped in such a shitty way of living but he couldn’t bring himself to treat the ram hybrid with any form of remorse. Tommy had been so stuck in his own brain that he only blinked back at the situation when the mug of hot chocolate was pushed up. “Drink up little bird, you need to warm up,” Techno told him with a huff.
Tommy reluctantly sipped at the mug of liquid, he blinked a little bit at the lack of any real flavor as he swallowed a mouthful of what was probably just pure milk. The blonde blinked for a moment once he swallowed the liquid before panic swelled in his chest. He pushed the cup into his brother’s hands feeling the swell of magic under his skin fade within seconds. “The fuck!” He yelled, looking up at his brother as the piglin spoke.
“You were acting weird and with pot particles around you-” The man started before Tommy growled, his wings flaring behind him as he glared. He looked a lot like Phil when he flared his feathers, the main difference being their size and wings. He glared, angry as he leaned over the kitchen sink, feeling as Dream began to return kicking up a fuss in his stomach. The teen gaged himself, his older brother quickly trying to stop him as he did this.
Tommy folded his wings close and chirped angrily before he felt his stomach clench and force a wiggling form up and out of his body. He coughed, a familiar man slipping out of his mouth and into the basin below. He was uncomfortable, trembling slightly as he wiped the mix of saliva and milk off his lip with his sleeve, the uncomfortable tingle of acid burning the back of his throat as he gave a thick swallow. The avian swirled himself around, his finger immediately being pushed against the other man’s chest.
“You just fucking assumed I was lying!? You could have killed him!” He squawked out. Tommy was mad that Techno had believed he’d lie so much he seemed eager to prove himself right.
The piglin had quickly put his hands up, a defensive and passive motion to fain innocence. “Heh-” The man started before he stopped and spoke up. “I didn’t know if I believed you! You were talking kind of crazy and had particles, I assumed a potion had a bad effect on your head, Runt.” Tommy found himself growling as he looked at his big brother with a mix of anger and frustration. He understood his brother while also being mad that he’d not believed him.
“But shit… You actually ate him.” Techno mumbled, taking Tommy’s attention back to the small man. The avian’s eyes drifted, zeroing in on the small form that sat inside the sink. His eyes drifted over his body, taking in the slight red spots of irritation on Dream’s neck and around his ankles. The ram hybrid had started to itch at his skin, clearly unhappy with the situation. He avian glared right back, not scared to meet the blonde man’s gaze as he was spoken to.
“You’re so fucking stupid, Tommy! You seriously thought eating me was the best way to trap me! How ignorant are you!” Tommy rolled his eyes as he listened to Dream ramble on about how horrible and stupid he was. He glared before moving his hand and turning on the faucet. He held back a giggle as his tormenter sputtered, the man looking like a drowned rat. His pointed ears twitched at the loud laughter behind him, turning over to see Techno kneeling over as his chest racked with chuckles. He couldn’t help the smile that pricked his lips,
He missed hearing his big brother’s laughter as his wings fluffed up a little. Tommy could feel his flock instincts swelling, wanting to chirp and trill at seeing his flockmate so delighted at something he’d done. He was pleased but he quickly forced the sensation down as he spoke up. “Shut up, you’re lucky I even let you out.” He said sternly.
He saw the slight look of panic in the man's eyes and the avian was guessing that he wasn’t fond of the sensation of acids against his skin. He felt a sense of control wash over his mind, it was intoxicating but he was swift to shove it away. “Tommy, how long have you… been in this predicament?” Techno asked. He looked over at his older brother, blinking in a bit of surprise. He’d kept Dream for probably just a day… It’s only just a day but it’s felt like he’s been doing this for a week. He ran his hands through his hair.
“It’s been most of today? But I um… I’ve only had him in for probably about two hours.” He said softly, he felt uncomfortable but he’d been the one to get into this situation and the one to bring it up. He looked up at his older brother, taking note of how the piglin stepped towards the sink. He watched as Techno began to push Tommy away from the sink.
“I’ll handle this, go drink some water and take a hot shower. You need to warm up little bird. Phil will kill me if he comes back to find you with a cold.” The blonde felt his heart sink at the idea of leaving Dream alone. He didn’t want to risk having the ram hybrid escape! He finally had Dream somewhere he couldn’t escape from and he wasn’t gonna risk letting him hurt others.
“You can’t let him leave. He’d been threatening Micheal! He’ll hurt him or worse… try to turn him into some reliant puppy..” Tommy found his words hesitantly, it felt too close to home as he held back a shutter of discomfort. He still remembered being treated like some kind of pet back in exile. He refused to be the reason someone else had to feel that way.
He looked at his big brother, knowing his blue eyes were bleeding with a silent plea. The avian could only hope the piglin would recognize how desperate he seemed. He didn’t like to talk about exile, not even bringing it up to Puffy back in his therapy sessions. He knew she’d had some idea of the things he’d experienced but he hated getting into the thick of the trauma. “I promise I'll keep an eye on him.”
Tommy nodded at the words, knowing Techno wasn’t someone who liked to lie over something so trivial. He walked towards the stairs, heading up them without another say. He was careful, stumbling into the bathroom. He let his eyes drift down to his wrist, his bandana had slipped free at some point. He’d paniced at the lack of the deep green fabric but the sight of his bare wrist was the cause of his stomach to churn again. He gaged, throwing up this time but not of his fruition.
He was panting as he leaned over the toilet, finally noticing how his body shook and he felt so much panic in his chest. He got to his feet, nervously as he covered his right wrist with his hand. He was quick to turn on the sink, washing out his mouth of bile before turning on the shower.
He needed a distraction.
▪──── ⚔ ────▪
Techno had noticed Tommy’s building panic the entire time they’d been talking. The truth was, he had believed the avian from the start but he knew that right now playing the role of an ignorant observer was the safest situation. He let his eyes drift from the stairs and instead focused on the small man who was sitting in the basin. He held back a growl as he reached over and picked his rival up by the scruff of his green hoodie. His eyes kept flashing back to the marks that littered Tommy’s wrist but mostly the very obvious scar that had been branded into the location of sensitive tendons.
Tommy’s sword skills had been rougher since his exile. The man had assumed it had been due to the lack of practice in the five-year period but that made more sense. He had recognized the shapes, they were identical to the mask that was currently attached to the small man’s waist.
