Are the non Indians watching RRR even aware that this quote from the director exists?? Have they watched Rajamouli's previous works like Magadheera and Baahubali to even realise that the tropes and themes he used for the romantic heterosexual lead couples in those films were given to Ram and Bheem?

One thing about the plot of RRR I haven't seen anyone touch upon (doesn't mean no one did, but I haven't seen it) is that the Buxtons and Edward lied to the police about what Bheem was really after.
They had to; otherwise they'd have to admit to their own crime (abduction / slavery). And there were clearly lots of people present there who turned a blind eye to that (the army?), but that presumably wasn't a guarantee with the actual police. So they lied.
When Ram says "what he wants is in the Scotts' bungalow", he isn't talking about Malli; he's talking about the Governor.
That's why his plan of action is to go to a revolutionary meeting with the absolutely mad "let's kill Governor Scott" as his calling card.
It was just sheer dumb luck and / or misfortune (depending on how you look at it) that Lacchu was there at the same time, desperately searching for any way in.
I think this also goes a long way towards explaining why it took him so long to, well, not find Bheem. He was working from an incorrect hypothesis from the start and wasn't actually looking for him.
