Game Over (Screen)
So you die, it’s over. Merlin has been defeated. What is it that makes a game over screen memorable? The music? Maybe the Sound Effects? Something like a punch in the guy or maybe someone telling you “It’s not over!” While, the design I have isn’t the most interesting, I wanted the game over screen to at least be a little fun. I took a page out of a few game’s book but greatly expanded upon it.
First off, if you die, you are presented with this screen. There will be a little animation of Merlin turning into that crystal ball you see there, but not much else. It’s pretty empty huh? I guess death is like that. However...
Say you have some party members with you? Well, depending on your friendship level, there is a chance a new option will appear. “Revive” Your party member will appear, give you some words of encouragement then allow you to revive where you died at. I’ll have to figure out how to code that though. There are still a ton of secrets I absolutely can’t talk about, but well, I hope it’s all exciting in the end.
