Rana Daggubati was born on 14 December 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is a member of the Daggubati-Akkineni family. His father, D. Suresh Babu, s a prominent producer in the Telugu film industry and due to which the boy had a comfortable life. But it is a little known fact that the lad suffered from a corneal defect since birth, and so, a donor was found and transplanted the left eye, but the right one remained numb. Before starting his journey as an actor, the youngster went ahead to own a production company, Spirit Media. He has produced commercially successful films, and his movies went on to win National Awards. For over five years, he learned about visual effects and then started ‘Anthill Studios’, a technology company that aims to bring world-class VFX to India. His firm also invests in startups that have the potential to create motivational stories in Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and VFX. The businessman also became the owner of the south Indian arm of Kwan, which identifies itself as a celebrity management and services firm and deals with digital activations and licensing. Then in 2010, Rana Daggubati stepped into the world of acting with his first feature film, Leader, which gave him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut of Telugu cinema. Later, the actor entered the Hindi film industry with ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, garnering applause from audiences throughout the country. The newcomer received the Zee Cine Award for best male debut in the year 2011. The artist got the largest break in 2015 when ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, which collected over Rs. 1000 crore worldwide. The talented actor not only played the antagonist, but he had also contributed significantly to the VFX of the movie. Subsequently, he became one of the famous entrepreneurs in India.
