While having trouble falling asleep last night, I started watching the group rhythmic gymnastics competition during the Olympics 2012 in London. I’ve only started to really watch group rhythmic gymnastics so I’m still having a hard time following all five gymnasts (although it’s pretty easy spotting when the routine hits a point where it becomes quite innovative) but even I can easily see just why Russia keeps dominating these games.

I have a hankering for starting a fic but I think I can only handle bullet point fics lol.

Being sick sucks but I think I’ve perfected how to properly recover for it now so I just have to be patient and be consistent at drinking fluids, resting, sleeping properly (which not gonna lie is my biggest failing in this whole thing), and drinking my medicine.

I enjoyed the belly dancing workout I did the other day so much that I’m contemplating getting a hip scarf. It looks so much fun!

While doing my nighttime skincare I was struck by an existential crisis. While applying my nighttime moisturizer + facial oils (rosehip and squalane) mixed in I realize that I’m in my late 20s and I don’t have a job and money has been slowly bleeding out of my account. Also, several things happened that made me realize that I’m pretty petty? and still too fucking immature to function as an adult. Like my sister called me smart and not wise and that’s so true. 

Then I realize that I just got hired recently and waiting for the entire process to finish so I can start. I’m applying to grad school in a subject I’m passionate about. I have things to look forward to. I create my goals and reiterate my purpose everyday. And even though I may be a late bloomer, wisdom is learned and earned. I just have to remember that everyone has different paths in life and that I have to forge my own by looking deep within instead of finding it in other people.

I was looking at quora about julia, the programming language, and these popped up at the bottom. I don’t even use quora to look up anime and manga much less Naruto. This is so strange but I thought this was hilarious

I think I...have a new job? Like a proper one and not subbing and shit because man being a substitute teacher was slowly killing me. But this new job seems way more interesting but there was something wrong with HR so I didn’t get their email until yesterday when they were supposed to have sent it last week but it’s all good now! 

My grad school application is almost finished! All my rec letters are in but I still need to polish up my personal statement huhu but I’m still aiming for late March/early April submission (due date is June 1). 

I will be starting #100daysofcode tomorrow because learning Python is going slow because I’m such a distracted procrastinator and it’s always easier for me if I’m trying for a goal. Intrinsic motivation for me is super conditional. Like I can make myself do a thing if it’s a goal that I’ve established in my brain. Also will probably do the same for reading. It’s going so much better this year so far than the last couple of years so I really want to continue the progression. I’ve read like 5 “books” (because I’m including short stories and manga volumes lmao) so far and I’m like 1/3 done with the left hand of darkness. So maybe have a goal of 50 pages a day?

After a mess the past few weeks it has been I think it’s time for me to start working out again because I know that I would definitely have days where I get to stay at home. It’s just better for me in the long run (obviously) and having a fitness regimen also was mentally healthy because I feel better about myself too (is that sort of a placebo effect?)
