"Why don't you mind your own business?"
Elliot wakes up from his coma to his big brother hitting on Liv
I have a question. How did the Stabler kids and Olivia get to the hospital? Now Liv could’ve been called by the hospital if she’s Elliott’s emergency contact (which would be fucking amazing) and then maybe she calls Ayanna or Ayanna finds out bc she heard about the crash on a scanner or she was tracking Elliot idk.
But Eli and his sibs are what’s bugging me because he and Liv are in the hospital room when Randall and Bernie get there. What doesn’t make sense is Ayanna called the Stabler house, where a party was happening and everyone was there. So if Eli (whom the party was for), Bernie and Randall and all the other Stabler’s were all at the same house, how did the kids get there before Bernie and Randall??
Obviously they would’ve taken multiple cars but it seems like the kids are there long before Bernie and Randall. So did they take a detour? Maybe Bernie revealed she knew where Joe Jr was and they went to get him? Maybe he didn’t want to come or they couldn’t find him? I’m just so confused at the timing here.
My other theory is that when the crash happened the party was winding down so the kids had already left. Maybe Eli was at work or something and Olivia picked him up when she heard, she called Kathleen, Dickie and Maureen and Ayanna called Randall and Bernie. BUT this can be disproven by Randall answering the phone “Party central!” Like the party is still happening?
My other other theory is Ayanna found out from tracking Elliot, she called the ambulance, etc. Then she called Olivia and they met at the hospital (I feel like there’s a cut scene somewhere with Ayanna greeting Liv and telling her he’s gone into surgery or smth). Then Ayanna calls Stabler HQ and the kids decide to come together to the hospital and Randall brings Bernie. ~Something~ holds those two up and when they get to the hospital we get this scene where Liv is planted firmly by his bedside like she’s been there for hours (though if he was in surgery it would have to have been hours later by now), Eli’s there, (this could’ve been another beautiful interaction between Liv and Eli if only tptb weren’t so cruel) and finally enter Bernie and Randall.
Does anyone have any theories? Or am I just completely misremembering this whole thing?
just started OC season 5, watching episode one as I'm typing this

the tone is so different, I don't know what it is but it's so much... grittier?
Oh yeah, and the voicover and DUN DUN is gone?!
And Stabler's brother is a main cast member now, I like that. The Stabler family drama was really great last season. Looking forward to more.
JET CUT HER HAIR?! Babe, the pixie cut... not your greatest look. You're still gorgeous though, don't worry.
OHHHHHHH SHIT, EVERYBODY'S ACTUALLY SWEARING NOW?! I thought I'd heard someone say "fuck" earlier and now Reyes just said "shit hit the fan". What is happening...?????
Oh my god, PLEASE tell me Elliot is gonna bond throughout the season with this little girl and the other escorts, I love when he goes all protective dad mode
okay these masked fuckers are weirding me out.
AWW HE'S TOTALLY GONNA BOND WITH HER ALL SEASON, THIS IS CUTE. Wait, who's her mom???
I truly cannot wrap my head around Eli being a cop. In my head he's still the baby from SVU 1.0
"Someone got drug away". DRAGGED away, Jet. The word is DRAGGED. Anyways, these escort girls are getting kidnapped and killed? Is Benson gonna be getting involved somehow 👀? Am i just reaching? Probably. And oh wait, I don't think it's her jurisdiction anyway, nevermind.
OHHHH SHIT, STABLER ALREADY LOVES THAT GIRL, HE'S BEATING THE SHIT OUTTA PEOPLE TO FIND HER
What the fuck is going on?!?! What does he get out of kidnapping Bunny?!?!? Oop, Stabler's about to beat a bitch with his bat.
BUNNY TOSSING HIM THE BAT IS EVERYTHING TO ME, I LOVE HER

STABLER IS GONNA LIVE OBVIOUSLY, HE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER, BUT BUNNYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?
DON'T YOU DARE KILL HER OFF, I ALREADY LOVE HER
WHAT A FUCKING AMAZING FIRST EPISODE.
I dunno when this turned into a live reaction, i was originally just coming on here to talk about how the show seems darker than before and the intro voiceover being gone 😅😅. Oh well.
Series 5, Episode 3
People who love Elliot worrying about him and him ignoring it and worrying more about his work and home life mixing. Man, last series the whole team was working out of your home, WTF?!!!
Also, another thing I love about OC is that outside of his wife and kids, we never saw anything about anyone from Elliot's family in SVU except one apperance from Bernie. And now we're like tripping over members of his family and I love that they're in his life so much now because I think Elliot does need people looking out for him, as much as he thinks he doesn't.
Please give me Randall knowing about Olivia because of Bernie mixing her and Kathy up around him.
Cause we know Bernie has mixied them up in the past and it would be the messiest way for Randall to get info about her.
So, as i watch the current season of OC and do my rewatch of SVU/OC im starting to wonder just how much influence on Eli's behavior has Randall had.
Because like ... okay if you look at that flashbacks Italy scene ... that was a vastly different Elliot/Kathy convo than we had been getting in the later SVU seasons for them (honestly really post s2). He talked WORK with her, let her know he be later than expected, informed her why, shared his concerns, she was able to ask questions - and offered up the solution (going so far as to bring food to him as said solution).
Half the time on SVU she had to show up at the squad room in a "hello, I exist" style (there is actually a whole scene of "Elliot talk to your wife" and him looking confused for a moment before turning to see her there all "yep, me the one you married" stance).
Basically: Eli didnt grow up seeing his parents the same way his siblings did. His father would call with work updates - even properly answer calls when getting them (we actually see him mention this in this current season "you can't ignore Becky's calls" - Elliot learned from his mistakes and grew). Was it always perfect ... no probably not ... but I do think its important to remember that Eli saw a vastly different Elliot/Kathy relationship as a kid than his siblings (which is a whole other post to get into in regards to him and his siblings).
Cut to OC ..... Eli early on is very close to his dad. Happy to be checked on (but also clearly slipping into his own depression and anxiety over his mother and everything that's happened). You can see his reaction when Elliot displays his PTSD (nightmares, aggressiveness, etc) - Eli is shocked, concerned, worried, leaning into protective. Its very clear early on this is not an Elliot hes witnessed before - and from that we also see how it makes Elliot worse (as guilt sets in).
Elliot strives to get Eli away from him, as Eli refuses to leave (sticking to the one parent he still has). This is all reasonable but here is where I think things derail ..... at some point before S4 Eli gets in touch with Randall. We dont get told when but I suspect its likely before he goes to college. I say this because we start to see Eli withdraw even after run away incident that revealed just how bad he was. While he improves, you can see him shifting away a bit from his father and then while at college it seems to just continue.
And ... from what we see with how Randall is about Elliot ... I am starting to suspect it may be due to his conversations there. Randall doesn't TRUST Elliot with the search for Joe Jr. He doesn't TRUST Elliot with their mother (its part of why he stayed then got her to move in with him). Randall has made in clear that while he loves Elliot, he resents him for following in their father's steps and idolizing him - its made it hard for him to trust he won't act like their father. So, when Eli texts in answer to a what's going on a simple "grandma forgot where she hide the remote so now dad's tearing the place apart as if hes executing a search warrent" ... Randall might not respond well.
To be clear...... I dont think its deliberate. Stabler family seems to not do the whole healing thing very well. Elliot clear is at a point of trying (i give this season points for indicating that actually - even if not showing repeat therapy sessions I doubt he can skip every weekly one with Ayanna watching him afterall) even if reluctant and obviously Kathleen accepted it years back. Randall ... while reminding his brother I dont think has gone himself (or is only now starting himself as well) - he does seem to be calming on a few things this season. So, it wouldn't surprise me if he had lash outs or made comments without realizing the damage he was causing when Eli tells him stuff that reminds him of the past. And then it worsens when he comes to NYC and sees his brother in person in cop mode.
