Clearing one of Eggman’s old bases wasn’t exactly the most glamorous of jobs, but there were definitely worse jobs that G.U.N. could have given them. At least with this one, it was just the two of them. They didn’t have to deal with anyone else mucking things up. It was effective alone time.
The base in question hadn’t been actively used in years, far as anyone knew. So Eternal and Shadow simply walked straight through the front door when they arrived. Eternal looked around as they entered, admiring the archetecture. “Y’know I. Think I remember this one... When did he use this one...?”
Shadow was about to respond, when the sound of something very clearly moving in the next room could suddenly be heard. The lighthearted jest that was at Shadow’s lips died, and he shared a wary glance with Eternal.
Moving slowly and quietly now, the two slipped towards the source of the sound. In the next room, they found a green bat, who appeared to be digging through spare parts and the like.
Another look was shared between the cat and hedgehog, before Eternal nodded. Shadow then stood to his full height, and stepped into the room, while Eternal remained hidden behind the door frame.
“Hey,” growled Shadow. “What do you think you’re doing here?”
