So, today I asked my students to download a picture of a celebrity for a photoshop project we're doing, then I went row by row checking that the pictures they chose would be useful for the assignment (if they had the right light, size, quality, etc).

This one girl was in a different tab downloadong other stuff for the project, so I asked her to show me the celebrity pic she chose. She switched tabs and I was smacked, no, ASSAULTED with Wang Yibo's face, extremely zoomed in.

I had a *visceral * reaction, like, flushed face, pterodactyl screech, I even jumped a little. I was NOT prepared for a giant Yibo face so early in the morning. Unthinkingly, I just said "hnnnngghhh why is he so beautiful?! Dammit, Yibo!!"

So, yeah, now that girl (and the whole class) knows I am entrenched in the The Untamed/MDZS rabbit hole. She'll send me fic recommendations tonight.

so today me and oomf were walking our other friend to the nurse's because her nose was bleeding and on the way out one of the admins said "thank you for escorting her, ladies" and i forgot im 5'1 with a baby face and shoulder-length hair so I turned around and yelped "LADIES?!?!" in such surprise that i completely embarrassed the admin

Random Anecdote Saturday

One time my friends and I we went on a boat tour in Alaska and they brought a few smaller pieces of glacial ice on board (I think they were putting ice chunks in drinks as a gimmick? Don’t remember)

But this one lady came by with a huge chunk of glacier on a baking pan (probably the size of a watermelon iirc) and asked us if we wanted it at our table

Long story short we started sawing at it with coffee stirrers so we could break it into pieces small enough to eat and I am So Surprised we didn’t end up with a parasite or some shit

I think about it every day though

Looked in my notifications and saw that some people had liked my Paranatural fanart. Started looking through some of their blogs. Scrolled through for a while looking at stuff from other fandoms and just general non-fandom things they'd reblogged. After about 30 minutes I saw a Paranatural post and got startled, and was all like "PARANATURAL JUMPSCARE? OMG IT'S THE COMIC WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" and it took me like a minute to remember that yeah duh, of course this blog likes Paranatural, they reblogged my fanart. I may be dumb.

Moving from the introverted PNW to the often overly-amicable southwest has been such a weird experience

I went to an antique mall with my girlfriend yesterday and I bought a Johnny Cash poster, but it was the kind that was wrapped with a slab or cardboard behind it, rather than being rolled up. On my way to the cash register, I had 3 separate 60 year olds come up to me and talk to me about Johnny Cash 😭😭😭

one thing i think about every day is when i was helping my mom clean and she said i need to completely clear off the coffee table

she proceeded to yell at me because i moved her "clutter books" from the coffee table to the bookshelf and now it looked like we were "trying too hard to look clean"

I was sure the exam for my Cinematography Basics class was tomorrow. It was today. I granted the students an extra hour bc I was late but I still feel awful about it.

I suck at school as much as a professor as I did as a student. Cool. Cool, cool, cool.
