So Grillby, how many times have you had to kick out folks out of your establishment?
‘…..More times than I can count.’
Oh there were a few folks that were regulars that he had to toss out into the snow, one of which was, of course, Keno. She was the worst of the bunch. However…
‘…I used to have to throw Lost out into the snow, whenever he got too eccentric but, that backfired quickly.’ He admitted. Remember kids, don’t toss Pirates out into the snow.
Pirates fight back!

Hey but I didn’t say Rony?
‘I am certain you were implying it.’
‘If not Rony, then who are you referring to?’

The battle was already lost…
They had lost many, wisps of dust scattering the battlefield, where as there were also bodies from the Human side. But their numbers greatly outmatched the Monsters, and a retreat was called. The Captain, the fire elemental leading the charge, was reluctant to pull back. Instead of pulling back alongside the others, he was assisting with their escape, clashing blows with the few soldiers of the enemy still on the field. But exhaustion was taking its toll on him. If he continued, he wouldn’t last much longer.
That was when he paused….what was that sound? Footsteps?
Grillby turned his head to see someone he knew who came out during a retreat, wearing armor he didn’t recognize. But once the voice spoke up, reaching out with a clawed hand to lower the elemental’s blade, then he knew…
“Sheath your weapon, friend. This is no place for the living.” The voice spoke, giving away just who was hidden under the armor, “I’d not want to see you trampled during the Raid.”
His molten eyes widened while looking at the armored figure, mouth nearly gaping open. Was this….Gaster?! He hardly recognized him in the armor, but the voice gave him away. Hell, he’d never seen this kind of armor before.
However, he wasn’t going to just turn tail and run..
‘Gaster?! Let me fight beside you! Who knows what they’ll-’
“Save your courage and your flame, burn it bright to light the way for someone else.” Was all that he merely had to say for Grillby to falter, knowing he was right. Fight another day, that was one thing he was taught. And if seeing Gaster here meant anything, it was definitely an ominous sign.
‘…Be careful then, Amigo del alma..’
Reluctantly sheathing his blade, he backed off to allow the Lich to do his work, taking that moment to look with determined eyes.
He’ll leave the rest…to Gaster..
As if the purple flickers weren't enough, the current silliness drives the point home. The fox is licking Grillby's face- well. More like frog-flicking its tongue out and mleming him. Mlem.
Grillby paused for a moment to consider just what the fox was doing, turning his head to look at the thing. Y’know, that’s rather distracting, right? Part of him had a feeling more of where this little fox came from, and this confirmed it.
Was Fleur playing with magic?
Either way, he let out a huff and a puff of smoke before going back to work, trying to ignore it, despite the snickers and chuckles from the patrons.
It's content with lounging around its chosen victim's neck, much like a living scarf. It's also a bit translucent and dim in some spots, as if the conjurer's focus is split, but there's no flickers in warmth or magic. One fire fox: acquired.
Grillby doesn’t seem to mind having a little companion, especially one that wouldn’t be harmed by his flames. Although he’s certain some customers will ask where he got the little guy from, he wouldn’t know how to answer it.
He’s just going to continue with his work, and get back to cooking. He’s got plenty of food to make.
Did Grillby ask for a little firey companion? No? Unfortunate. He's getting one anyway. It's not too big, just a little fire fox with twin tails that could be carried easily with one arm. The only odd thing is that the primarily blue flame fox has faint flickers of violet in its face.
‘…Hm?’
Wait, when did this little fella get here? Looking over the little fire fox, he squinted his eyes a little, having to take off his glasses to get a better look. Yup, definitely has to get a new prescription now. But he did notice the faint flickers of violet within its face, only confirming where it could of come from.
For now though….he didn’t mind, gently picking up the creature and letting it perch itself on his shoulder.
Who else knows besides Amos now? I know a few anons were the ones the spilled the beans to him. We're sorry that happened and your eye is cracked. Will it go away once you're back to normal?
‘….I don’t know.’
‘I will be speaking to Maria and Verdana about it, as well as speak to Rony on what we are going to do.’
‘However, the crack will still remain. Even if I change back, I will still have it. I think it’s already effecting my vision in that one eye. Might need to get a better pair of glasses.’
