@guardsruins liked for a stater!
He was going back to a place he had hoped he’d never have to see again.
Not that Toriel’s home was shabby, or anything. It was actually pretty cozy. Had a fireplace she normally kept roarin’, shelves of books, a tidy little kitchen. It was nice. Just, well. Sans only ever saw the place during a very—particular, set of circumstances. Comfortable as the home was, good of a roomie as Toriel had always been, the surrounding events that led up to him going beyond the locked door of the Ruins left a bitter taste to it all. Sort of stained his tongue, if he was honest.
But here he was. Again. Holding a few books under his arm from the libibary that he didn’t plan on returning, and following the former Queen of the Underground into her self-imposed exile. Again.
Still, Sans supposed, as he kicked the excess snow from his slippers before crossing the threshold into Tori’s home, things could be worse. Life just loved to remind him of that lil’ tid bit. It was true, though. T was good company. A good buddy. Someone who didn’t mind his bad jokes and was clever enough to toss some of her own his way. Heck, if he was really bein’ honest now, her jokes were usually better than his. No small feat, that.
It just would have been nice if he got to see her place Underground in a kinder timeline, for once.
But, oh well.
It was fine.
“man, tori, guess you weren’t kiddin’ when you said you liked snails, huh?” Sans commented as he tucked his new additions to her book collection away, grinning at the many thickly volumed snail-related texts. “have ya gotten through em’ all, or has it been a slow process?”
