Ok serious talk yes Vecna dropped the affable mask immediately. Yes he is of course lying on a lot. But I actually think they changed him a bit for the show and he actually believes he is "saving the world" on some level. Even if it's mostly spite in truth, even after ascending he talked about that.

Campaign Whispered One was already a lich and was very aware he was evil and fine with it. Show Whispered One is... still clearly evil and delulu but I think he wasn't a lich until now (dying to be reborn is standard lichdom and all in his backstory seems to suggest he was just a powerful necromancer messing with things who got put in wizard jail so I think show Vecna actually put Lichdom and Ascension ritual all in one) and his backstory and grievances matter a lot more to him. He wants to "save the world" to prove he was right and he is evil and spiteful about it, campaign Vecna was like "yes i will enslave you all lol"

Can I just say how grateful I am, how lucky we all are, to see one of the most astounding forces to ever be put to screen. The Dora Milaje. Never once is their power questioned. Never once does their competence and composure waver in all their iterations in the MCU. No matter which director features them in their project, we all collectively know how intelligent and badass they’re gonna be. As soon as they step in we know shits about to be HANDLED.

It makes me incredibly proud as a WOC to see these ladies on screen and it brings me so much joy to see (simply on the internet) their impact on black women and girls alike.

“They call him Rosie” ugh this just sent goosebumps all over my body. He doesn’t even anticipate anything about him, but he gives him such a memorable introduction that even if you don’t know what’s going to happen next, you can’t help but get the feeling this Rosie is going to be important. Having read Helmet For My Pillow right before this, I’ve been trying to compare their different writing styles in my mind and this is what made me realize: if Leckie is a poet, Crosby is definitely a screenwriter.

I have a lot of thoughts about generative AI etc. A LOT of thoughts. The irony is not lost on me that I’m branching out into visual arts at precisely a time when a “cheap” (not really) computer program can churn out better quality art than me in a fraction of the time.

I’ll save a longer rant for another day, but I will say this: I played with Midjourney one afternoon for a little bit, thought “huh that’s a neat toy”, and got bored and never went back. I picked up a pencil a month ago to learn to sketch, and I’ve been obsessively sketching every day since. The momentary pleasure of “having” a cool picture is NOTHING compared to the joy of the act of making the cool picture.

On reflection, Primary school was wild. It wasn't *officially* a religious school. It was supposed to be secular. But the head was a big old bible basher and determined to covertly indoctrinate us without our parents knowing.

So she made us do "a non religious school prayer" instead of the Lord's Prayer or whatever, which was funny cause the prayer still had God in it. She brought in the local vicar every week or so to talk to us about God - My clearest memories of him is that fact he was American and once talked about going to the shop to buy Ribena.

She made us celebrate Christian holidays, while excluding other religious holidays. Very dull Jesus only Christmases with very dry nativity plays. I once got told off for eating the dolly mixture off my Christingle.

Oh and she used to boot out kids of other faiths from assembly. Those lucky gits used to go sit in the dank corridor while we got preached at.

I think a few parents complained, but she used to just pull the I am exposing your children to lots of different ways of thinking and different cultures when in reality she was trying to convert us to christainity lmao

Looking at your own Facebook memories really does feel like studying an ancient civilization sometimes. Like, who were you past self? Why did you want fish? Did you ever find them? We may never know.

Abro is the Schrödinger’s Cat of orientations: it can be asexual/aromantic, it can be allosexual/alloromantic, or it can be both. However, nobody’s going to know which until they open the box and ask the snarling abro stuck inside the box … and I don’t think there’s any two abros with the same specific combination of identities, meaning there’s a lot of boxes to open.

I have a slight cold and as a result I have lost my appetite, food doesn’t seem appealing when it is tasteless. Makes me think about life, what is life when you have no purpose? I’m not the smartest girl in the world but I’ve been blessed with knowing that Allah exist. I know that there is more to this world than socialising and feasting. I have to admit I’ve been lost for sometime, I’ve gone astray but I want to come back. May Allah soften my heart.
