A list of old things I’ve found in old books or in the street SO FAR
1. A gay magazine from the 70s - found in the gutter in the rain on the side of the road in 2018.
2. An autographed photo of ex-Buffalo Sabres player Jay McKee (made out to a guy named Kyle) - found in a copy of Dragon Wing : Volume I by Margret Weis & Tracy Hickman
3. Two pieces of yellow lined paper enscribed “Sweetest Day 6 roses 1991″, within the pages rose petals were pressed, along with baby’s breath and some sort of green leafy thing - also found in that copy of Dragon Wing
4. A piece of thin orange construction paper, folded in half to hold another yellowed paper folded in half which had typewritten instructions on “HOW TO CONNECT A STRAIGHT LAY TO A HYDRANT. (2-Piece Company) - their use of caps, not mine - upon which someone had written “BENIGNANTLY 11. DESERT FLOWERS, 18. MARIPOSA LILY” - found in a book about, well, gardening. The book was from my first high school’s library, the school itself was formed in the 1920s, and the library was visited very infrequently, to put it mildly.
5. A postcard of Yosemite Falls made by the Western Publishing & Nov. Co from Bernie to Ted - also found in my first high school’s library, if I recall correctly.
