A question for Yorkshire people
I was location scouting on Google Maps for one of my writing projects and I found something interesting. I really want to know if anyone knows about it.
On a road a little bit north east of York, there’s a random wall built across the road:
The wall isn’t attached to anything. There doesn’t seem to be a country house or anything that this might have been the entrance to. As it stands now, this wall is all there is. There’s a noticeable gap each side between the towers and the trees, so you could easily just walk around it.
There’s an image from the other side without the raindrops which makes the gaps to the side more obvious:
There’s nothing on the map when I’m in map view; it only shows up in satellite or street view modes. It’s just a random wall in the middle of nowhere.
This is the location information:
Does anyone know what this wall is?
More importantly, is it a quiet enough location that if I set a fight scene here, is it plausible that I could have a group of characters fighting for maybe 15-20 minutes in the middle of the night without anyone noticing and reporting it? Because I now really want to use this for a particular scene.
