From a worldbuilding perspective, it’s also not THAT weird that no one in Konoha knows who the Uzumaki clan are. Or what they were famous for.

Believe me, it isn’t. I’m a walking example of this.

My last name is the exact same name as a very very famous American brand. You know how the brand names of products can become the product itself? Like Coca-Cola and “coke”?

My last name is like that. The brand overtook the generic product well over 150 years ago. My last name appears everywhere in Hollywood films going back to the silent film era. You’ve seen my last name everywhere. You dressed up in costumes based on the brand my last name helped to popularize. My last name is an icon of American culture.

9.5/10, nobody in America recognizes what this name is. As soon as I point out the connection, it’s like “WHOA I NEVER REALIZED THAT.” But it was always there. It’s even worse outside of America. And the brand/company is still around, still making their brand.

So, let’s say the entire art of sealing was modernized/standardized/perfected by the Uzumaki. Their spiral is the base of seals, the swirl on all the Konoha jackets. It’s there, it’s always been, and eventually, people forgot where it came from. Worse, the Uzumaki, their nation, everything, is basically gone, and their relevance fades and fades...

And there is no ninja google to remind people of who they were.

So no, even if the Uzumaki’s importance was a retcon, it’s not THAT unusual that people in a tight-lipped, Internet-free world don’t know who they are.

cottagecore, except it's a big-ass space station or cylinder hab and you only have gravity as long as the damn thing keeps spinning, the air and water have been recycled a million times at least (but you can no longer smell or taste the hab-specific reek), and you and all your pretty plants and pets are genemodded and bio-augmented to live in this environment

Surely these would exist among the monsters of undertale:

- conspiracy theorists who think the barrier isn't real, or that the king or old royal scientist was responsible for erecting it

- people who consider the barrier to be a holy shield protecting them from certain extinction at the hands of humans

- monsters who believe so strongly in the barbarity of their own kind that they don't think monsters should be free

- monsters who straight up don't believe in the surface

In the world I'm writing, there's a sentient species that whenever they need a favor from someone, before they ask, they have to complement or give something valuable to the person as a means of showing that they don't see the other person as a slave or lower class. Whenever humans interact with these people, some feel like it's being manipulative and when humans have reciprocated asling favors, they don't so this species feels like the humans sees themselves as superior (and let's just face it they do, but they don't really want to let other species know that) and therefore relations between the two species is strained.

Random worldbuilding thoughts:

*Tini'kaa are nocturnal, and can see fewer colors than humans can. *Each spellcaster has a magical "signature", which is difficult to hide and reveals their elemental alignments. *Weniket have very good senses of smell! *Familiars can, in fact, change their forms or exception over time. It isn't a conscious choice, but the result of their bonded person growing and changing. *The "common" language used to communicate across the species is usually Isagian, Zenan, or Kefkan.
