Ahaha yeah, you've got a point! I just reread it and realized that he sounds a lot younger than 7/8. Perhaps I just have this way of belittling kids in my mind??

Initially I based his age on the height as I had imagined him (I'd say he was tall enough to reach Adrian's bellybutton). He seemed a bit tall for a 6 year old, but his behavior proves otherwise I suppose! I'll change it right now, thanks for pointing it out. :>

And lol, after the second time reading it, it suddenly dawned on me that this could easily, easily become a super cliche drama story just by replacing Adrian with a female. I-I'm kind of embarrassed that the story is actually that basic, it feels like anyone could have thought it up! But at the same time I'm kind of reluctant to pull away from Adrian being sort of a "housewife", as you put it, because I feel like. . .it really would suit his personality to do that. Not because he feels like the woman in the relationship (NO NOT AT ALL I think he definitely would retain much of his masculine qualities!) but because he would prefer that kind of job, in comparison to what Carter has to do?? I think by staying at home, Adrian has the flexibility to do work but also do as he pleases. He has responsibilities, but it's not in a rigid schedule or format and honestly it's a lot less stressful than, say, the AP courses he had to take in highschool. He's learned time management, and that I think makes him able to handle such a loose schedule (Carter on the other hand is forced into a tight schedule/work hours, which is his only way to grasp organization). Ehh, the only downside of staying at home for Adrian, I think, is that he might fall into the temptation of just playing videogames all day haha!

Hehe as for inspiration . . .I just kind of let my mind wander. 8) Sorry for the vague answer! It really is hard to pinpoint what exactly prompts me to think of these kind of things without looking at all of the tangents and the little details that were going on all day. For this one, I guess it was Mother's Day, which prompted me to think about Vinny and his surrogate mother. Which led to the questions. And then I guess my mind connected this incident with the sick day incident and ran with that the entire way.

YES YES YES I've already read that (and I'll admit, I really liked it. Sorry Pab!). I really like your writing style, and you've got quite the knack for breaking the fourth wall haha. Also, you have a wonderful way of transitioning from action to scene to dialogue to action it's like asdkfjs I can't do that to save my life. I wonder, are you going to make it chaptered or just a oneshot? Honestly, I imagined it to be long enough for a substantial amount of chapters, but idk tell me what works for you! :x

oh yes they do. and it's always so much fun to watch them climbing/jumping/being in there so naturally (and the narrower the better). this morning I actually looked for him in the whole house but didn't find him. my mum later called me and showed me him sleeping in the laundry basket, no wonder I couldn't find him (the last place I'd actually look) :D
