I've been tagged
Who came up with tags?! You're forcing me to interact with humans! Bleck! :P
By mallaidha I knew this would happen eventually
RULES - rule 1: post the rules - rule 2: answer the questions the tagger asked you, then make five new ones - rule 3: tag 10 people and link them to your post - rule 4: let them know you have tagged them
1. If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Umm...goodness. I don't frickin know, but can I be Wonder Woman? She's hot and awesome!
2. Favorite non-chocolate candy?
Nerds.
3. Hidden talent?
I can't think of one. I have pretty good hitchhiker's thumbs and I can draw okay. Uh...oh gosh. Please tell me I'm not that douchebag who doesn't have a hidden talent cause everyone knows what she can do?
4. Celebrity crush?
*JACK WHITEHALL! ;)
5. Guilty pleasure?
The Jonas Brothers' tv show. I own all the DVDs.
My questions:
Favorite tv show that visits the San Diego Comin-Con?
Your Hogwarts house?
Most expensive thing you own?
Most expensive thing you wish you owned?
Favorite brand of chocolate?
*I was only kidding about Jack, but I am a huge fan and love him lots. Um..I want to go with the easy answer and just say Niall, but I'm gonna go with... WOODCHUCK TODD!!! aka Penn Badgley, but only Easy A him, not Gossip Girl. Yucky! :P
I'm tagging...

My friends stare back at me, shocked and confused. They really don’t know anything about what goes on between my mother and I, seeing as I’ve never told them. This is the first time they’ve ever heard me speak this way; before I would simply complain and move on in life. No details, no explanations, and certainly no first hand stories. But now, sitting in the car amid the growing darkness, my subconscious decided it was time to clean the slate.
“That is why I can’t lose my phone,” I sigh, fiddling with the key ring in my palm. “When she’s upset, she doesn’t forget and is well equipped enough to make sure you never do either.”
Carrie and Selena are silent, staring out the window or at the floor, anywhere but my face - which is just as well because my eyes are beginning to betray me again and tears are embarrassing, even with your close friends. So I hop out of the car, stride through the headlights and around the corner, taking care to be out of sight before wiping my eyes across my arm.
Just like my friends predicted, the community pool is locked up tight for the evening. No lights, no people, no entry. The only thing that remains consistent is the quiet lapping of the water at the edge of the pool. Reaching out, my fingers wrap around the cold gray metal bars of the gate, brass padlock banging noisily against the metal. Carrie and Selena come up behind me and the three of us stare silently through the gate at the dim abandoned water. After a few hopeless minutes, Selena speaks.
“Can you see it sitting around somewhere?”
We all crane our necks, faces pressed in between the bars, but it’s no use. The place is too dark and from this angle the most we can see is the lifeguard’s chair and one lonely corner of the swimming pool.
“Ooh! I know!” Carrie exclaims, beaming at me. “Why don’t you call Niall?”
“Call Niall,” I say skeptically, eyebrows jumping up my forehead. Selena leans back around me to watch Carrie as well.
“Yeah, call Niall!” Carrie repeats. “Look, I know you two are playing the ‘who won’t call the longest’ game, but he works here! He would have a key and be able to let us inside!”
“And then what Carrie?” Selena asks, sarcasm dripping from her voice. “We walk in there, look around for a bit and – oops! That’s right! We don’t need to find Arianna’s phone if we’ve already used it to call Niall.”
“Oh,” Carrie says, crestfallen. Her tanned shoulders droop and her cheeks turn pink. “Right. I forgot, sorry.”
“Honestly Carrie, sometimes I worry about you,” I sigh, shaking my head.
“It was just a suggestion,” she mumbles while scuffing one foot over the pavement.
“Alright listen,” Selena says. “We obviously can’t solve this problem tonight. Pool’s closed, Ari can’t remember Niall’s number to call him, and none of us are tall enough to jump the gate.” Carrie and I turn to give Selena an astonished look at her breaking-and-entering suggestion. She shrugs and continues. “Why don’t we just come back at seven when the pool opens and look then? If your mom asks Arianna, just tell her your phone died and you need to charge it. Problem solved.” Carrie and I exchange a glance and a shrug, mulling over this solution in our minds.
“Alright, fine,” I sigh. “I’ll show up first thing in the morning.”
“Me too,” Carrie adds.
“We’ll both be there to help you look,” Selena smiles.
The three of us pile back into my car, making small talk all the way back to Carrie’s house. I’m still harboring an anxious, twisted feeling in my stomach but try not the think about it. Selena’s right after all; there’s nothing we can do at the moment.
I just hope I can lie well enough to pull this off.
