so, we ended up watching the martian twice along with the extras!

caitlin is such a dork, I love watching sci-fi films with them. they were really excited about pathfinder, hexadecimal language, ion propulsion, the rover, the plant farm, etc. don’t even get me started on neil degrasse tyson in the startalk extra. also, not science related, randy watched it with us the second time and he hit my shoulder whenever sebastian stan came on screen (I don’t blame him though).

I got my little cousins into steven universe and they’re over the moon about it now! it’s such an adorable and well done show. randynuwanda and I had a marathon before I left for Japan. the animation is stunning, there’s good messages/morals, character development, plot, etc. caitlintheawesome and I were talking about how it’s this great mix of light hearted humor and deep emotions. It’s sooooo important for kids to have both of those elements in a show (also older viewers too, because people of all ages are watching the show)
