Loki watched the Valkyrie, Banner, and Thor having a one-sided discussion about his intentions. Odd, that they did not include him on the debate.
He heard ‘he tried to kill me’, and arched a brow in the direction of the huddled group of ‘Revengers’. Thor weighed in on that sentiment with vehemence, glancing furtively in Loki’s direction as he retold the tale of snakes and childhood shenanigans. At first Loki was amused. He recalled the incident, and a younger, surprised version of himself tackling Thor after his older brother had decided physically admiring the small, green serpent was wise.
But then his brow darkened.
“Are you bitter about that?” Loki interjected, interrupting the discussion that had moved forward to wormholes and ships and escaping. The Valkyrie cast him a look that she clearly meant to wither him, but he flexed his fingers and shifted in his chains. She would no doubt be angry at him for much of the foreseeable future. What he had done was hardly something admirable - a spell perfected on him through long months of torture that he had rounded on her when she had him pinned. He knew the truths about the Valkyrie now... and it seemed to have inspired rebellion against Hela in her.
“Of all the violence between us, that is what comes to mind?” His green eyes were on Thor. To helheim with it all. Asgard was burning, and the Grandmaster kept them here like chained dogs. He had felt like a pet for two weeks. It had been a miracle in itself he had eluded the arena, but the Grandmaster loved entertainment, and those who could smooth talk others into placing large wagers that would line his coffers had better use than dying in the pits. Loki could do nothing - return to Asgard, find Sigyn - if he were a corpse. Loki’s silvertongue had been useful, and his magic amusing, and he had thus far spared himself much but the occasional drugged wine. Loki kept Grandmaster’s more distinguished guests happy, and in turn he was given a fine seat. ...And also leverage to steal access codes and rifle archives for information. He had almost been caught, twice, thus far.
Loki had no love for the Grandmaster. Driving a dagger into his back would give him some pleasure.
But Thor was discussing suicide if not carefully considered, and what was more, it burned in Loki that the incident when they were eight was what he used to vilify him, “Please tell me that is not the foremost memory of our troubles in your mind.”
