Angela Week Day 1: Night Walk

I love that she has her own week now, it’s what she deserves!!! Although I am bad at coming up with drawing ideas that only involve one character so most of my art for this week will be her with other people oops (I also tried to redesign her hair to be a little more 1940s since that’s theoretically when the flashbacks would be set I think??)

So here’s her and Randall walking back into town from the knoll! She’s too polite to say it but she probably wishes they could talk about something other than the mask of chaos every now and then

i joke about being the last rangela standing but as time goes on and the bulk of the fandom grows up and matures i see more people taking…i guess a more realist, sometimes cynical eye to them. that there’s no reconciling their relationship after the events of the game, maybe even that it was doomed from the start or less meaningful than their other relationships. nothing wrong with differing interpretations and analyses ofc that’s what keeps things interesting!

but those two mean world to me, have since adolescence, and i want angela and randall to have hope on their side. i want to see two people work to repair themselves and their relationship after so much time and unthinkable tragedy. even if it takes a lot of work. even if it’s messy at first. or keeps being messy after that. it’s important to me that they get that happy ending.

So I like rangela, like it’s a weird comfort ship. It’s kinda makes me upset that level-5 didn’t really do anything with Angela, and just pushed her to the side. Because like we don’t really see much of their relationship or what they’re normally like. But I suppose that’s the point??? Idk

Anyways something I noticed on my last playthrough is how Angela said something about Randall’s father. Specifically how he’s just “really really strict” id imagine she says this about her parents as well. Where im going with this is because how Randall and Angela’s parents are- neither one of them probably know how to navigate/handle relationships. We don’t know how they normally were together or what the extent of their relationship was but to be fair they are teenagers and teenagers aren’t exactly gonna know how to navigate anything.

Anyways I like them because both are messy and to an extent you can tell they do love each other. There is a relationship between them. Like Randall as the masked gentleman, he still flirted with her even though it was Descole but that’s a whole different can of worms and uhhh— but Angela did wait for him. Idk where I’m exactly going with all of this lmao. I guess I could also mention how Angela knowing Randall is the masked gentleman and trying to protect him from the police is kinda a things?

Again idk lmao, I’m probably reaching for why I like them.I just like these two together and I want them both to be happy. Like they’re both kinda broken(?) hurt(?) individuals that come abusive backgrounds and I want both of them to get better together.

More Angedove...feat Masked Gentleman! I think she'd be very tickled by the wings after everything's calmed down...like awh ok lets be birds together Randall <3 he just puts on the wings sometimes to entertain her. She then proceeds to birdbrain it up and completely forget they're fake.

I had a cute rangela idea

so, Randall was going to propose to Angela before he fell, right? What if he had the ring on him when he fell, and it somehow stayed on him even after he awoke. But, of course, after he wakes... he has no idea who it's for.

The only clue is an engraving on the inner band of the ring, which reads for my princess

(HEAR ME OUT. He was 17 and also I know Randall likes fairytale shit bc of his book riddle thing when he was the masked gentleman which literally has angela as a princess okay moving on)

he spends his days on the farm sappily daydreaming about who his princess must have been, if he'll ever find her again, etc. He keeps the ring in his room all those years, hoping one day to give it back to her.

of course later 'finding out' that his princess 'betrayed him' by 'marrying another man' hits really hard but I think after all that, and after some more time together... he'd propose to Angela with the ring he'd kept on him for all those years- in a way, he was waiting for her just as much as she was for him. Despite the only thing he remembered about her was that he loved her.
