The reason for Rani's violence against Katsuni isn't only caused by her 'cuteness aggression'.

There is a real part of her, hidden in her smothering affection, that despises Katsuni for taking up every part of her thoughts. At times, she will fantasize about him finally going away, but the bigger part of her knows she wouldn't be able to handle that. It's a cycle that leaves her feeling confused.

She goes to Laila for advice sometimes, though she's never told her the real extent of her feelings.

"Is putting a child in charge of the war really a good idea?" Kaazu inquired, learning against the wall. "His age tends to be... unstable."

Arthur muttered to himself, the other's words going in one ear and coming out the other. Pictures of the old goddess were scattered across the floor, the camera focusing specifically on the purple and magenta of her eyes.

The question seemed to finally register, the blond running a hand through his hair. "It's not that he's incapable of leading, it's the– the bonds."

"The bonds?"

"It's like Truth and Lies," He held up two fingers, presenting them to him and pressing them together. "But a less... severe case. When they're apart for too long, things start to fall apart, and..."

Kaazu waved dismissively. "Yes, yes, I know. Alas, Truth and Lies's forms start to become unstable. Rather quickly, even. That is clearly not what is happening with Katsuni."

"Don't you remember what 'she' said?"

At that, Kaazu pursed his lips. Arthur didn't have to provide any more context—all Gods were haunted by those words. The blond was especially obsessed with preventing some kind of "disaster" apparently coming their way. Seeing as the egyptian wasn't offering a response, Arthur continued.

"It's not just the age part. It's– more than that. I looked into a few timelines that branch a few years from now—"

"You of all people know that's dangerous," Kaazu scowled.

"Yes! I know! But just... listen for a second. I looked into it, and if Usotsuki doesn't come back, the war won't end."

"...We'll lose."

"No." Arthur swallowed, Adam's apple bobbing heavily. "It won't end."

A beat passes between them. Then, a slow exhale escapes Kaazu's nose—a sign of defeat, usually—and he takes Arthur's hand in his own, rubbing his thumb over the pale skin.

"He hates you, my love."

Arthur averted his eyes. "Don't have to tell me twice."

"Katsuni is afraid of you as well."

"Is he?"

Kaazu raises an eyebrow. Arthur blinks at him, brows pinched together, then promptly deflates and runs a hand down his face.

"Alright, well... do you think... Rani could watch over him?"

"Rani?" Kaazu laughed. "She is already watching him! Ever since Caius revived her, she has been tailing the poor boy."

"It's definitely odd. I mean, wouldn't she have gone after our son instead?" His head found its place against the shorter's shoulder. "Why Katsuni?"

"I do not care, as long as she busies herself with someone who is not our son. Can you imagine the play dates?"

"Bloody terrifying," The blond snickered.

Laila was the one who found Rani once she had turned into a God. She gave her clothes, food, and worriedly questioned her for hours until she was sure she was okay.

Rani has never once forgotten her kindness; she makes sure to control herself more around her. She also grew to like quiet types more because of her.

No one knows what would have happened if Uchū didn't aid Caius from the stars when he was reviving Rani. Some doubt she would've become a God, but some malformation of human and rabbit.
