Billy felt his head buzzing, the room feeling off balance as he stood. He never usually got drunk. a few beers, but nothing that would get his mind out of focus. Tonight was different though. He wasn't sure what it was that made him drink more then usual. Maybe he was just stressed or having an off day. Whatever it was, it was back firing on him heavily.
He knew in this state he would have to sit down, he was feeling his knees getting weaker and a sudden weight on his legs that felt overbearing. He tracked his eyes around the room before spotting the couch. He could make it there. it was either that or the floor and he wasn't fond of laying on the floor with multiple people around.
He stumbled his way to the couch, forcing himself upright to not fall face first into the ground. He sloppily reached his hand out to the arm rest of the couch and grabbed it to balance himself. He let out a groan of displeasure, already regretting the actions that got him like this.
He slightly brought his eyes upwards and paused. There was someone else on the couch. Well there was multiple people on the couch, it was a party. But there was one specific person. Randy. Billy wouldn't normally care if he saw Randy, there's nothing special about him that would make him care. But this wasn't a normal night. His eyes slowly focused on Randy before he practically dragged himself to where he was sat on the couch.
He wasn't sure why. He wasn't sure of alot of things tonight, he just knew that he needed to be near him, Interacting, Talking, Something. He made his way passed some of the few other people on the couch, planting his feet down on the ground as he stood Infront of Randy.
Randy, who was souly focused on the movie and making sure his input about it is known, stopped talking once his vision of the TV was blocked. His eyebrows furrowed before bringing his eyes up to meet Billy's.
"What are you doing? Your in the way."
Billy blinked slowly, trying to process his words. Once they registered he slightly tilted his head before suddenly sitting himself beside Randy silently which caused him to flinch. There was silence between the two, the people chattering and the movie playing loudly over them.
"Right, okay. Great conversation." Randy muttered sarcastically. He took his focus back to the TV, but couldn't help his gaze drifting back to Billy. Mostly because he was always on edge with him. There was just something about him that screamed "danger" to Randy. He had no way to prove it yet since realistically it was a gut feeling, but he was one to trust his gut.
Billy was sat there silently. His body was oddly limp against the couch, like there wasn't an ounce of tension in his body. His mind was completely unfocused, struggling to keep his interest in the movie playing when he was much more interested by the guy beside him. He felt like he could feel the presence of Randy hitting into him hard, like they were physically strung together, which was odd since they weren't even touching. They weren't touching.. why weren't they touching? I mean, they're friends, right? They argued a lot but that didn't suddenly make them any less of friends.
Before he could fully process what he was doing he suddenly draped his arm over Randy's shoulder, making him feel an immediate stiffen underneath his touch. Randy once again took his eyes off the movie and instead back onto Billy's, more confusion then ever prominent on his face. He didn't feel the urge to move. He was just.. confused. Suspicious.
"Are you drunker then you look or did you suddenly get friendlier in a night?" He said with wariness in his tone. It's not like they've never touched before, they've known each other for years. But this was different. Billy never just gets randomly affectionate with people. Sure, he's never very opposed to physical contact, he doesn't even acknowledge it most of the time. But he's not one to usually insinuate it unless it's in small gestures.
Billy completely ignored his comment. Instead, he yanked Randy closer to his side.
"Shh.. shh. You talk too much." And with that Billy wrapped both his arms around Randy's shoulders completely, leaning his forehead down to rest against him lazily. Randy's jaw went slack, his eyebrows furrowing as he stared at Billy, who was getting very comfortable against his side. Right when he was about to say something he felt a hand clamp over his mouth.
"I said shut up." Turns out he was just as demanding when drunk. Doing what was told, Randy shut his mouth. Normally he would probably get defensive if anyone else would do that to him, but unfortunately his need to not get gutted by Billy outweighed any fight he had. Randy slowly settled himself besides him. Shortly after Billy let his hand slip off of his mouth and instead putting his grip back on his shoulder.
The movie eventually became background noise and the people around them seem to slowly fade off. Right now, it just felt like it was them. Randy could feel himself sweating at the close proximity, nervousness building inside his stomach the longer the two stayed in the position. Hesitantly, Randy brought his hand over to Billy's hip and rested it there. He wasn't sure if that was the right move. But hey, he wasn't the one that decided to start cuddling on the couch out of nowhere.
Billy peered his eyes up, causing Randy to freeze. His expression was unreadable. Randy always hated that about Billy. Before he even could get the thought to remove his hand Billy shuffled his head against Randy's, their cheeks pressed together as he felt Billy's breath against him. Randy's heart was beating in his chest and he was half way convinced he was gonna die tonight. Either from a heart attack or some ploy Billy was doing to get him all vulnerable and comfortable so his guard went down.
Before he could play out 100 ways his possible death could happen tonight a voice cut through his thoughts.
"I'm.. tired." Billy mumbled lightly. "I think.." he started before slowly trailing off, his eyelids feeling heavy. "I'm going to lay here awhile." He said softly, letting his head drift down to lean into Randy's neck. Randy sat there stiffly, his attention fully focused on Billy. He wasn't sure if it was out of confusion, fear, or something else at this point. He let out a slightly shaky breath, accepting that this was his fate of positioning tonight.
