Regarding Ranpo on the new cover — he could also be looking directly at Atsushi rather than at the viewer, signaling a potential danger or other major event (maybe the Port Mafia transfer?) for our protagonist, or even just highlighting the fact that Atsushi’s going to be an even more pivotal figure for events going forward now that he knows he’s the “bookmark”
