i think people start to forget that copyright exists in kink spaces too. just because it's posted here doesn't mean it's up for grabs. that person owns that text/audio/photo/etc. and using or distributing that without permission, regardless of credit, is wrong.
i'd like to compare it to this. let's say you're an artist trying to learn, so you trace another artist's artwork for practice. this is perfectly fine if and only if you do not post it or share it in any way. because it isn't yours, and even if you give credit, you didn't ask for permission, so you're not free from consequences. and especially don't pass it off as your own.
if you record a text post as audio practice, you shouldn't use or post that without permission. it should solely be used for practicing tone, inflection, recording quality, etc. don't post it, don't send it, don't use it on someone.
if you practice writing by writing stories/captions based on photos/audios/text, don't reblog with the story without permission. 90% of the time, people find it creepy and can block you for it. don't add unsolicited and unwanted comments. this isn't to say that you can't use comments at all, but if you think op won't be okay with it, then ask. and don't even think about doing it if the blog specifies that they don't want captions on their posts.
oh, and taking inspiration means you actually need to—you know—take inspiration. not basically copy the thing word for word, change like two things, and post it. credit or not, it's not transformative in any meaningful way to distinguish it from the original. that's literally just stealing.
obviously these all go for non kink spaces too, but i find that in this space, people tend to think they're exempt from these basic rules. kink creators deserve credit and respect.
if you are unsure if you can share something, ask permission. a yes is a yes and a no is firmly a no. respect that.
