So 악어 has his VODs uploaded on Youtube and I've been lurking in the comment section to see the vibe of the Korean audiences. It is safe to say that they are also very hyped about QSMP as much as everyone else here lol but as I was scrolling there have been one or two comments that have the word that doesn't translate well – 정실. With the help of Google, my own poor understanding of Korean culture, and Tina's name in the same sentence I think 정실 is a shipping term.

Now, aside from the elephant in the room, that made me curious about the shipping culture in Korea. Of course, 악어 has a rule about shipping and everyone should respect and have the common decency to not shove their headcanon on to creators but people will simply ship. No matter the culture, chemistry is chemistry, but I am curious what is the norm in Korea. What is their shipping vocabulary and what do they think about same-sex relationships. I'm just very intrigued and just want to understand another country's shipping etiquette and a culture vastly different from what we know so far.

Thinking of other countries'shipping etiquette, what is it in other countries we have already? In Brazil, France, and Hispanic communities.

Man vs Fate

I believe what most of us find tragic is the destiny Ardyn’s burdened with -- no matter what, he’s destined to be the sacrificial lamb to save the world. And yeah, there’s that obvious parallel drawn with Noctis, among other things, but they both have to die. 

But Ardyn could have gotten his happy ending and possibly not die and all they had to do was TALK.

Gonna preface this using Noctis as an example. All his life, the prophecy was kept a secret from him. Regis knew his son’s fate, knew about the sacrifice, and grieved over it; but he kept silent about it, at least to Noctis. In Episode Ignis Verse 1, Ignis realized what role the Chosen King played -- the sacrifice, the 13 kings, the whole shebang -- but Ignis kept that all to himself, and lets Noctis walk off to his death and duty. But in Verse 2, Ignis has none of that. While Noctis bakes in the Crystal, Ignis goes and makes plans in hopes of fighting this prophecy. But in order to do so, he had to let everyone else know how and why, meaning he has to share the knowledge of Noctis’ destiny: the secret is out. He talks.

Now back to Ardyn. 

Aera knows about Ardyn’s destiny. In the Prologue, she receives the message and it’s not a good one, judging by her reaction. Ardyn is the Chosen King to save the world all right but not for what we hope for. He’s not gonna save everyone by sitting on the throne. He’s gonna save them by dieing. Aera knows this, she’s upset by this, but she doesn’t say anything about it to anyone. Not to Ardyn, not to Somnus. It’s a secret. We can assume that Aera tells Somnus who the Chosen King is but not the implications of it, then that clusterpuck happens in the Prologue: Aera dies, Somnus ‘kills’ Ardyn, Ardyn gets locked up, so on and so forth. But the thing is? Ardyn never truly wanted the throne. He just wanted to save people and apparently being crowned king was the way to do it. Somnus just wanted to be recognized, and that meant having the throne.  If Ardyn and Somnus had known what being the Chosen King meant, things would have played much differently. The three could have worked together, figured out a workaround to Bahamut’s prophecy, and everyone could be alive and happy. Ardyn, knowing being king wouldn’t truly help the Scourge epidemic, most likely would have given Somnus the crown, giving him the recognition he so wanted. Perhaps this would have cooled Somnus’ jealousy, and along with Aera, could have returned the favor by trying to find out an alternate resolution to stop the Scourge. (According to the interview, Ardyn and Somnus used to get along well; it was probably the fight for the crown that split them.)

If the prophecies and destinies weren’t kept secret, there’s a good chance they could have changed their future.

After sharing Noctis’ destiny with others, Ignis managed to change fate. 

If Aera had done the same instead of keeping it secret, there’s the chance Ardyn’s could have been changed as well.

TL;DR:: Stop keeping secrets and tell your friends, especially if you don’t wanna die.

When thinking about replaying Hijikata’s route in KW/EB: 

I love Hijikata, I love him so damn much. But his route was fucking torture. Lemme explain; 

First of all, bonding moment with Inoue. Inoue dies. Then Yamazaki is being a loyal badass and I just got to really fucking love him, he dies. Then Hijikata drinks this fucking Elixir of Life to protect my ass with severe consequences. Then, when things start calming down, fucking Kondo just sacrifices himself, and dear god he’s a cinnamon roll and I hate when he dies. NOW, that leads to Hijikata being a fucking broken man who’s just lost all purpose in life and who feels like he’s worth absolutely nothing anymore. Do you know how painful it is to see this strong solider being at his rock bottom? ITS PAINFUL. VEEERY PAINFUL. He’s always doing his best and works so hard to keep things going he doesn’t deserve this at all. Okay but, things start to calm down again... But lol, Chapter 8 comes around. Your father dies. Now, that’s not too bad but it’s still something. Finish that one off with Todou and Sanan dying. Just like that. Just dead. IT HURTS. Now you’re still dead but you’re like; Oh well can’t get worse. Oh fuck it can. Saito just dies off-screen as well. And... remember the cute dude with green eyes that kept threatening to kill you? The one with Tuberculosis? Yeah, of course he dies too. - At least Harada and Shinpachi are alive, I guess?? 

Now that’s just Demon of the fleeting blossom right? But what do I have to be scared of in KW/EB? Sakamoto dying? I mean, he basically always dies when you don’t meet him in like Ch. 1. Gotta watch Souma die?? Like come on, don’t kill off Souma? Iba?? Iba dying? Dude no. 

I swear to god, I want to play this so badly because I love my vice commander from the bottom of my heart but I can’t deal with all the fucking character deaths here. I LOVE THEM ALL ITS ILLEGAL Like, I had to take a break from my binge playing sessions back then already. What am I supposed to do here? Quit and come back in 4 years when I dont care anymore? ;; Oh god

what i want for the raven boys tv series:

1. A. DIVERSE. CAST. like give me some reece king and amandla stenberg thank you (also no lucky blue smith bullshit)

2. obvious but a good storyline!!!! holy shit this is important like look at all the book to movie/tv show adaptations and TELL ME how many of them follow the book. like, none. the books are there and i don’t see why you need to change everything.

3. GOOD!!! SETS!!!! sorry but the settings make up for lots of bad tv shows like… not only how pretty/aesthetic it is but like you know how cabeswater/monmouth/etc etc all have a certain mood yeah

4. i want the relationships (and friendships) to be super realistic like !!! dont rush into it and please make it soft and also BISEXUALITY EXISTS BUT DONT MAKE IT DEFINE THEM YKNOW THANKS

tbh i wasnt thrilled to hear that this was being turned into a show but i am really giving it a chance now i just want it to be a good show that isnt THAT popular and mainstream but still gets recognition for what it is without it not being meaningful and soft and just an overall good show please !!!!! this series means so god damn much to me !!!!
