Well, my autism hit again. I was sitting on the couch, reading a really good, exceptional book about Autism (Uniquely Human: A Different Way of Seeing Autism by Barry M. Prizant. Go! Check it out!) and I started talking to mom about how I was glad that I never had a Special Interest that society considers abnormal or can be seen as dangerous by people in society. I said that probably my closest Interest that would be considered abnormal is Vampires and when my dad passed away, I got fixated on death, death traditions and the death process/decay etc. Well... My mom freaked out at that and said, "I don't want to upset you but please stop talking about that right now. It bothers me." I know she was trying to be nice to me but I could tell she was terribly upset and it made me feel awful because I didn't think about how it would make her feel, especially with my Aunt Dolores (her sister) in the hospital, on life support right now. But yeah... It really bothered me. I hate that I said it now. :(
