Fairly new group here from members of Rapid Cities, Brickmower, and Lock and Key. This demo from Real Good puts together a pleasant set of songs that actually sounds like what you'd sort of expect from a combination of those groups. Certainly not as hook heavy and quickly paced as Brickmower nor as post-hardcore driven as Rapid Cities, but these tunes show hints of both at times resulting in a road that leads them into jangly indie-rock that seems to also share characteristics of Braid and early Built to Spill. They seem to want to jump between the two from song to song, which creates a bit of a divide. That may be more of a personal preference though, although both are pretty decent, I think I enjoy what these guys are doing more when they get away from the overly mined midwesterm emo sound and loosen up some. Would certainly like to see them do more of that. Overall though, this demo does enough to get me interested in where they may be going.
For those that are looking to pick this up you can head to their Bandcamp page where they have the entire demo up for streaming/free download. Those that want a cassette can shoot them an e-mail, which is found on that page as well.
