Never heard of kiripharah but now I'm very interested
I've seen it talked about by another person exactly one time-
Alright so for me this ship spawns from the fact that the two of them are fairly similar, with some key differences. Both of them are the youngest out of a group of three (Hanzo, Genji and Kiriko - Cassidy, Angela, Fareeha), both of them grew up looking up to their mothers and those their parents surrounded them with but for whatever reason their parents were reluctant to accept that side of them, both of them are fairly proud and cocky people, both of them are fairly sporty, both of them are the leader of a group outside of OW (Kiriko with the Yokai and Pharah with her Helix team), both of them were fairly sheltered from what was really happening to the people they look up to.
The major difference is that Kiriko has a lot more disregard for rules and laws then what Pharah does, as seen in one of their interactions;
It also calls to attention their different upbringings, though they did seem to grow up in the same kind of environment, Kiriko grew up surrounded by a disregard for the law while Pharah grew up with everything by the book, not only that but Pharah grew up not really having to worry about what was happening to the civillians around her. Kiriko had to deal with the fallout of what happened after the Shimada clan fell. Both of them want and aspect of change but they have a contrasting view on how to achieve that.
(A little side note, I find this voice line so funny because, Fareeha, honey, your brother is a criminal-)
Because of this difference I think they would be able to play off each other in an interesting way, not only that but they both have that theme of straying from the path that was made for you and instead making your own way, your own path.
Anyway time for me to look to closely at a voice line;
I don't know about anyone else but to me this reads as competitive flirting. Also I looked up what using "Chan" actually means in Japan cause this is literally the only time she uses it and;
So we all know that this could literally only mean that Kiriko finds Pharah endering right? Cause Pharah is older than Kiriko, and is very much not an adolescent.
Anyways another reason I like this ship is because to me, it's very funny in context of Gency and Yeehan. Cause I honestly love the trope of "members of a trio date other members of a similar trio", at least when it's done right.
The biggest problem with shipping this is that it's a rare pair, and when I say rare, I mean rare. Like there is no content on them on here or anywhere else I've seen, and there is only one fic of them on Ao3. 0 if you look for them without shipping them, seriously there isn't even a single "Fareeha "Pharah" Amari & Kiriko Kamori" fic on Ao3, I though there would at least be a fic about them playing basketball.
So as you can guess, I am currently suffering.
