" I’M HERE FOR YOU TOO, jessie. if you ever need anything you know you can talk to me. ” if there’s anyone tifa wishes she could get to know better it’s jessie. though their similar in a way, hiding behind a smiling face in different ways. AVALANCHE had filled the gap of a makeshift FAMILY that she yearned for and yet there were times she felt unsure of her footing. didn’t want to seem too eager ( she never had to ), because for the first time in her life.... she knew no one. she could name everyone in nibelheim and their grandparents. here she was like a fish swimming in a huge busy sea wondering with no clear direction. “ -- i know this sounds a bit silly but ... i never sleep well before a mission i was wondering if you wanted to maybe watch a movie with me in my room...”

caught off guard   ———   still wasn’t really used to having people around so frequently ,   he guessed ;   cloud hadn’t meant for jessie to catch the moment ,   head in palms ,   fingers between sunbeam yellow spikes   &   perched forward as if his spine were more of a concept than a construct .

was everything okay ?          honestly ,   he wasn’t sure .          the ex   ―   soldier couldn’t shake this detached feeling of something being off   ―   kilter ,   misplaced ;   &   the honest to god dead space in his memories weren’t helping ease the feeling .

but other than that ,   he was fine right ?

❛  OH,  JESSIE ! perfect timing... I was wondering if you could try some things I’ve been thinking of putting on the menu... ❜ she’s had a bit of trouble sleeping lately, difficulty turning her brain off does that. nevertheless, when she was too restless to simply watch the night sky-- at least she was doing something that could get some extra gil their way.  ❛ since it’s been so warm i was thinking something fruity could be great now... ❜   putting down the pink-tinted liquor in front of the other, decorating it with a lemon slice for the extra flare. ❛ though it would be pricer than the usual stuff.  ❜

Hearing the words of uncertainty clearly bring a hint of surprise on her features, though, for the most part, she tries to smother it-- head tilting a bit with a rather neutral expression. ❛ what do you feel like you don’t have together ?  ❜  she doesn’t want to assume. they are quite the pair, on the outside, it may seem like they have their whole world figured out. there’s no doubt that Jessie is successful and talented, excelling towards whatever end she wants. A THEATRE STAR in the making, an expert in bomb-making, and VOLUNTEER for hands-on missions to stop Shinra herself. though, she supposes that leaves very little for the normal things, doesn’t it? going out for brunch with your friends, having dinner with your family, reading for pleasure before bed, having someone to share intimate moments with.

the sacrifices they had to make, in order for their losses to NEVER BE REPEATED. how much more would they have to lose, she wonders-- before they come to whatever end.  ❛ THAT’S FAIR, THOUGH... I doubt we ever will, you know ? sometimes I wonder what's next after all of this. if we do beat Shinra to dust... will it really be the happy end we want ? will there be something more we have to do then ? ❜
