Brew #326: Rascals Brewing Company & Boundary Green Acres Farmhouse Ale

Abv: 5.5%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Yeast, faint pine, tea,

Pour: Clouded amber with sediment and white head reducing to skim

Taste: Lively spiced wash with lots of bread and herbal tea notes. Good yeasty cut in there and the citrus peel adds enough fruit in the balance to make it morish and sweet. Hints of orange and cardamom and light zesty bite. Mouthfeel is bread and soft resin with medium carbonation and aftertaste of green tea and faint cardamom. Nice flavour and a good sup.

Notes: 440ml can, green tea, grains of paradise, citrus peel.

Brew #235: Rascal’s Brewing Co. Wunderbar IPA

ABV: 6%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Marmalade

Pour: Opaque amber with frothy white head

Taste: Spicy fruit malt with cedar and pine notes crashing about. Moves from deep tropical tang to fresh piney dryness with a lovely light hop bite. Delicious IPA from Rascal’s so it is...

Brew #234: Rascal’s Brewing Co. Yankee White IPA

ABV: 5%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Lemon, herbs, floral notes, bread

Pour: Cloudy yellow with a white froth head

Taste: Good citrus hit upfront with a hint of spice underneath. Herby lemon wash and a light dry bite at the finish. Pretty close to a wheat beer in my book given the flavours going on here. Really nice.
