Head empty.
No thoughts.

✨Raske✨
There’s a loud knock on the front door before the thing just swings open to show a very large Norwegian man. “Heyyyyo!”
Katja picks up a still soft krumkake and flings it like a disc at Magnus. “Hey! Take your shoes off in the house you heathen!” She gives Alfie a pat on the shoulder before charging at Magnus, jumping at his huge frame to hug him with arms and legs.
“Who’s the heathen that’s listening to old norms and marrying at a wicked young age!” He shouts, looking at Alfie over Katja’s shoulder as he hugs her. He’s still not sure of this French fairy that is coming in to take his sister. Magnus sets Katja back on her feet and kisses her cheek in proper greeting. “Good to see you.” He pushes past her to hug Ida, burying her in his furs.
“Believe it or not I kind of missed you.” Katja tells Magnus.

“I’m not even getting married yet. Besides, you’re just jealous because I work with Odin and his sons, you Thor wannabe.” She teases. “You following the hunt like I told you to? Did you hear about Vidarr Odinson?”
“Yeah, what scum. But who liked him anyway?” Magnus takes one of the rolled krumkake and bites the end off, making himself comfortable on the small sofa that he overtakes. He’s not going to admit he doesn’t watch the Hunt like he told Katja he would. Mostly he heard about Vidarr from others. “Where’s dad?”
Alfie shifts on his stool. The presence of Magnus seems to fill the cozy cottage. He tries not to feel small in comparison but knows he is. Magnus takes up the whole couch with his body, everything about him screams Viking warrior.
“Out chopping firewood.” Katja says with a smile, going back to Alfie’s side and taking his hand. “Mags, this is Alfie. Alfie, Magnus. Don’t listen to anything he says because he gives horrible advice and dresses like an Asgardian wannabe.”
Magnus rolls his eyes at her tone. “Hey.” The acknowledgment is rough. Magnus gives Alfie a curt nod but makes no effort to move.
Alfie stands to extend a hand to him. There’s no need to shrink. If he can survive the hunt, he can survive Katja’s brother. “It is nice to meet you. Katja speaks highly of you, believe it or not.”
“Believe it or not I kind of missed you.” Katja tells Magnus, smiling when he at least shakes Alfie’s hand. She expected nothing less than for him to give Alfie a hard time but at least he’s being fairly nice.
Alfie ducks his head as his cheeks heat up. “I think that’s quite enough about me.” He murmurs to her. “How did you and Magnus meet, Hanna?”
“Primary school. He pushed me over on his way to build a snowman so I pushed him right back.” Hanna says with a sly smile. “I pretended I didn’t know who he was for a good long while after that. Then I went off to school and couldn’t help but notice he got bigger and more handsome every time I came home.”
Alfie smiles as he listens, giving Katja’s knee a squeeze under the table. He loves hearing about how other people got together.
“Ohhhh.” Magnus takes a swig of mead, sounding like he might just have an amendment to make. “She played coy for so long until I snogged her proper at her own graduation party!”
“Sog!” Anders says with a mouthful of potatoes. He’s taken to often repeating things Magnus says even though he doesn’t know what they mean.
“Right son! A good snog!” He smiles at Hanna and leans in to kiss her but she just bops his nose with her finger teasingly. He pouts at her but pulls back to respect her boundaries. Probably doesn’t want to kiss someone with food in their mouth. “But really, we went every day from there on out seeing each other. And we were happy. So I asked her to marry me.”
“We were nineteen.” Hanna adds, looking at Katja and Alfie. “Young. But we knew.”
