The @teamniklasedin trio began their defense of the Penticton Curling Classic title w/ a 7-2 win over the Islanders. By now many curling fans are aware of 🐐 @niklasedin ‘s knee surgery. Apparently one of the commentators of this morning’s game tried their hardest to lobby the Swedish trio to let him play w/ them when he drove them to the mixer last night LOL. I’m so incredibly proud of how well @oggelit @rasmuswrana & @cr1ppa have stepped up & continue to win w/o Nik. They’re simply incredible. They’ve been so good one of the comments on YT chat last weekend was how we need to change the rules because playing as a trio used to be a disadvantage, now it’s an advantage. Congrats to 🐐 @niklasedin & @teamniklasedin on booking their spot in the playoffs. Hoping for a win vs NOR this afternoon too. I think Canada will likely get the bye to the SF so I want SWE to get the other bye. Hoping for 610 to make it to the playoffs as well since my Young Bucks are already in. . . I was a bit worried about today’s afternoon game because my Swedes were facing off against a pissed off Scottish team hungry for revenge after this morning, but 🐐 @niklasedin & @teamniklasedin had no problems. SCO had the “can’t get rid of hammer” issue. SWE w/ the 8-2 win. So proud of super spare extraordinaire @daniel.magnusson00 for stepping in for #worldsbestlead @cr1ppa & calling line for Uncle Nik. HOLY COW! Someone wanted 🐐 @niklasedin ‘s historic 2021 Worlds way more than me. $1,525 bad. Even in Canadian dollars, that’s a lot! We all know how much I love Nik & @teamniklasedin but, I’m not an oiler, I can’t afford to spend that much on #curling gear even if it’s benefitting Kurling For Kids. . . Silver lining: I did manage to win one of the signed @hardlinecurling #icePad covers for $25 CAD plus shipping (there were several available, including 2 that did not sell & got relisted, along with 4 Team DeCruz signed icePads). Can’t wait to add this to my collection. I need a glass cube display thingy so that both the Viking design and the signatures are visible, though I’d like to see if I can get @daniel.magnusson00 and @donhedge to sign it too in the future… . . Seriously though, Nik’s 2021 blue jersey becomes available, I’d probably try for it, especially since Dynasty didn’t make the @svenskcurling uniforms so I can’t order them. Hopefully people chill & not jack up the price beyond my budget days before the auction ends. Unlike ebay, they give others 5 minutes to counter whatever your bid is (timer starts up again) so there’s no sniping allowed. I really need to add a Sundgren & an Eriksson jersey to my collection too to go w/ my Wrana jersey & my closet full of Edin clothes so if @cr1ppa just wants to give me one, I’d gladly take it 😬 . . We are one month away from @niklasedin & @teamniklasedin ‘s return to competition ice. They already reached the final of Baden Masters and will be back in Switzerland in October for the Swiss Cup Basel. With @curlingworldcup not returning this season and @grandslamofcurling eliminating the Elite 10 from their lineup, the Swedes’ schedule looks lighter this season than last, but they did add the Karuizawa International in December so Japanese fans have a lot to rejoice.
