Verdict: ★★★★☆ 4/5 Very Good!
Wow! Sweet-tooth tea lovers rejoice, this dessert drink is a delectably sweet treat combining berry tastes with a smooth, creamy base. Starting with green rooibos, this tea adds in white chocolate chips, sugar crystals, and an array of berries—blackberries, raspberries, and strawberry leaves—with vanilla flavoring and hibiscus. It may sound like a lot of ingredients, but the end result is a harmonious berry-sweet flavor. Plus, it’s caffeine free, so it can be enjoyed at any time of day or night.
Despite the white chocolate chips and little speckles of sugar, I found this tea needed a spoonful of honey to really enhance that sweet berry goodness. The berry flavors are rich and full—not cough syrupy at all—while the rooibos and the vanilla provides a luscious, creamy base that ties the taste together. Don’t think “bright and tangy” of fruit flavors on their own; instead, think smooth and silky, like the balance between berry frosting and vanilla cake.
If you like sweet teas with tons of flavor, this is one you’re sure to enjoy! But if you’re not a fan of sweets and prefer stronger, earthier tastes, this one might be a little much for you. My favorite thing about David’s Tea is the clever blends and combinations creating unique tastes that you can’t find anywhere else. Raspberry cream pie is one more example of that—a delicious berries-n-cream blend that’s luscious and sweet.
Beautiful raspberry cream pie I made for dessert today! I was really happy with the way this came out. The only change I made to the recipe was only putting in 2 tablespoons of sugar in with the raspberries. I felt there was too much, but here is the recipe in case anyone wants to make it!
