The following foods and drinks are good for sore throat:
– Quince water:
Quince water is good for bacterial throat infections.
Put a tablespoon of quince seeds in a cup (2,5 dl) of water. Let it stand for a night. Strain the quince water. You can use stevia or honey to sweeten your drink.
– Fig smoothie:
Take 4 dried figs, a cup (2,5 dl) of hot milk and half teaspoon of turmeric. Make a smoothie from it in a blender. Drink it slowly while still hot.
– Coconut milk with onions, thyme and cloves:
You will need the following ingredients:
– 3 bigger onions
– 1 cloves
– 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
– 1 thyme branch
– 4 cups/ 1 l of coconut milk
– 4 cups/ 1 l of water
Peel and chop the onions. Put all of the ingredients in a pot and start to cook it. Cook over low heat for 2 hours then mix it with a hand-blender. Drink it warm, three times daily.
– Thyme honey:
You can make a spinach salad with chicken, mustard and thyme honey.
You will need the following ingredients:
– 300g/ 10,6 oz chicken breast
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
– 1 purple onion, chopped
– 3 tablespoons of thyme honey
– 3 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
– 3 tablespoons of white wine vinegar
– 1 mango, peeled and chopped
– 150g/ 5,3 oz spinach
– salt, pepper to taste
Chop the chicken breast and fry it on the olive oil with the garlic and the onion. Mix it with the chopped mango and the spinach. Pour the mustard, white vine vinegar and thyme honey on the salad. Add salt and pepper to taste.
– Coconut milk with turmeric and ginger:
Mix half cup (1,5 dl) coconut milk with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of ginger powder and 1 teaspoon of honey. Warm it and drink it slowly.
– Raspberry honey:
You can make rosehip in raspberry honey.
You will need about 50 rosehips for 1 dl/ 0,4 cup raspberry honey. Cut the fresh berries in half, scrape out the seeds. Wash the berries and let them dry. Than you can pour the raspberry honey on them.
– Honey-Apple cider vinegar drink:
Pour 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup (2,5 dl) of warm water. Drink it slowly.
