i’m from the southern usa! we have some neat spiders (huntsman spiders! theyre huge!), and i’ve found a preying mantis or two around my garden and stuff, but our beetles are pretty boring
they seem pretty interesting! ahah http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/14211118
i found a preying mantis once when i was a little kid (and it stuck on me and freaked me out ahha) but ive never seen one since. mostly i just find these guys http://www.ddcr.org/florafauna/Detail.aspx?Class=Arthropods&Referrer=Tenebrionidae&Subclass=Coleoptera&Id=54
they are EVERYWHERE
