my rat, Maz hasn't bitten me for just about a month now and she doesnt mind being picked up now n i'm so happy about it, bc i never thought i'd make progress or bond with her! yet here i am with Maz curled up inside my hoodie after she gave my hand some licks and then launched herself out of the cage to come see me !!!!! she's also the first one to come and see me whenever i enter the room and always the first to take a clamber on me. whenever i put my hand in their cage or specifically their hammock, Maz used to ward me off and bite me and now she doesn't give a shit (or at least she tolerates it) and lets my hand in there. i'm so happy she doesn't see me as a threat anymore and actively searches me out! so don't feel upset if you feel you're making no or little progress with your ratties - just be patient, work with them, respect their boundaries and don't give up!!!
