Just wanted to drop in a say how much I appreciate your tma fic rec posts - I discovered them via another blog, and they always have amazing fics! I've sorta spiraled (ha) into binging all the recs you've posted lol
Enjoy the brain rot ;)
And it makes me very happy to hear that you've enjoyed the fic rec posts! I know it's hard sometimes to find good fics sometimes, and I personally always enjoy a good fic rec post seeing as the alternative is sorting through hundreds to thousands of fics looking for just the right thing to read.
Help! Unable to close SSP! After downloading another ghost, my current ghosts did not load at all, just showing textbox speech. After deleting the new ghost, and executing SSP once more, (error showing "may lose data" as I was unable to quit without a ghost to right click on) everything works as normal. However, after dismissing them, SSP still remians open, and when I hover over the icon on my taskbar, there are 2 blacked out windows of WDG (The ghost I was trying to get working again).
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "showing textbox speech", but it sounds like you may have had a ghost stuck open that just wasn't loaded in properly. What ghost was this? Does WDG refer to Dr. W.D. Gaster, a ghost you're developing, or some other ghost?
Whatever the case, there are a couple of solutions for a problem like this:
Find the icon of the ghost in your task tray (not the taskbar), and right click it. This gives you access to SSP's menu, and from there you can choose to quit.
Note that clicking "Close" closes the current ghost, and if you have multiple ghosts open, the others will stay open. Click on "Quit" if you want to close all open ghosts at the same time.
2. If SSP is locked up and unresponsive, you can try closing it through Windows Task Manager. Open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc, click SSP in the list of processes, and then click End Task.
3. If you absolutely can't get any other method to work, then the final thing to do is fully restart your computer. This should force SSP to close, and then you can start fresh. I would generally recommend using the "restart" option for any kind of debugging issues like this, since it is a bit different from the "shut down" option in modern versions of Windows.
I saw some of your wips for stickers, and they look super cute. Do you sell them anywhere?
aww thank you! :^D and nowhere yet but in the future i do plan on selling them! i made them to sell for my uni's lil art mart thing :^P and if there are any leftovers from that afterward, i will most likely be selling them online, thank you for your interest too! <3
Not sure if you've already said this, but when will shipping start?
Our goal is to start shipping before the end of the year, but this may change depending on manufacturing times and other production delays outside our control. We'll be posting consistent production updates and put out a call for address changes about two weeks before shipping begins! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
How does Merc aka Horrorswap sans end up integrating his determination?
Well see, the problem Merc (HorrorswapSans) has boils down to just too much DT.
It's a very powerful substance, too strong and too foreign to his monster body to vibe with his magic correctly. It's like oil and water, with the DT just...sitting on top of his magic, separate from it, but creating interference--his soul tries to communicate normally with his body, but the DT is gunking up the signal, garbling it and making things go haywire (re: the melting problem).
The ideal situation, where this isn't really a problem, would be if there were a much smaller amount of DT in the equation, like Ell was given. Not too much to overpower his normal magic and functioning, but still enough to bolster his body and soul in a harmonious ratio.
I mean...Merc can't undo that part, unfortunately. He'd have considered it, but the DT extractors haven't worked in years, and even then they were designed to work with.........considerably less...alive... subjects. By the time he could maybe get it working and reconfigure it, the DT's already been in him too long, attached. It won't mix, it won't blend properly with the rest of him, but it's part of him and trying to get rid of it altogether would probably just kill him.
...But maybe there's an idea in there after all.
The ratio's off. It won't blend.
But what if it wasn't? What if it could?
If Merc can alter his side of the equation--his magic--expand the pool into which the DT is trying to integrate...maybe it could mix, finally, instead of just sitting on top and suffocating him his magic beneath it.
In theory, it works.
If he had enough, if he could produce enough magic for the DT to become soluble, it would fix the problem. He wouldn't have to maintain it indefinitely, he'd just need to do it once and his body could adapt, his levels would stabilize and excess DT would burn off along with excess magic, once they were in sync and part of the same system like they were supposed to be all along.
.........
But no. It's not possible.
He's strong, he has a lot of magic, especially with the DT involved, but the numbers...
No.
Not even he could generate that much, as much as the numbers suggest he might need to do this.
Kicking himself in hindsight again, if he only knew how much he overdosed himself by before he did it, if only he hadn't done it in the first place...!
...Well.
Maybe...
I mean, if he had help...
If...there was another strong monster, willing to give him a graft of their magic, to break that impossibly high threshold...
But it would have to be someone close to him, of a similar monster type, very strong and...
It would be...asking so much.
It would be a risk to his--...the donor too, and to ask for such a thing, from someone he's already hurt so much--
"don't be stupid," says Ell. "you don't have to ask."
So...Merc gets a magic graft from his brother, making enough room in him for DT red and sky blue to finally mix.
And in the end, he's left a very happy skeleton with soft pink eyes that reflect every bit of the mile-wide grin on his face when the nightmare is finally, finally over.
Do you know of a good place for witch/witch hunting related resources? It sounds super interesting and the fact that similar cases have happened across time and space (?) makes it a fascinating example of human behavior.
I'm working on compiling all the things I read/watch about it in a separate place so I can have a better answer but until then: pdfs of original witch hunting manuals are pretty easy to find (no copyright laws on something from 1489 etc etc. The Malleus and Discovery of Witches are the most famous but there's also Demonologie or Demonomanie, and all the papal laws about witchcraft), and there are actually a very good documentaries just around youtube! I'd also suggest to look up transcripts of trials, they're very fun
Since the place you're from is home to a bunch of famous artists, what was the art curriculum like?
pretty extensive, actually. Art history in italy starts cronologically from river valley civilisations architecture and ends with the 1980s - most movements are followed with both a broad approach and focus on specific artists (specific european artist, with some exceptions with the study of japanese prints). I've heard the way we study art history, which is mandatory in both middle school and highschool, is one of the most in depth curriculums in europe so
also art and art history are separated: we usually get a drawing class, a /technical drawing/ class which is the base of architecture, and then an art history/architectural history class - often with the same teacher but technically separate
