some help please.
i need to tell my dad i got 0 in a project evaluation and am considering quitting engineering and considering gambling money as a career. i might've lost my mind cuz i never got 0 before. i did get negative marks but never 0.
so how casually can i word this out to my dad and not piss him off
oh god. this is difficult.
since, this is a tough one, we need to use psychological tactics here. (not at all versed in psy btw)
here there are two objectives:
i) quitting engineering
ii) start gambling
i) Quitting Engineering
put yourself and abilities down. question him whether engineering is a good choice and is he sure u can do it well.
if he says, it is a good choice for you, then say, that he might be right abt that but ppl around you are not cooperating with it. (idk how to word it better). and then say that since engineering (technically) is a group profession and all, you have trust issue, say those shit.
if he says no, profusely agree with him and say that u r considering of quiting and can no longer continue due to self-doubt.
ii) Gambling
i really dunno what to do but
instead directly saying gambling why dont u use some other word?? i cant think of one now but surely our moots might help.
TIPS:
IMPROVISE, dont just go by script. read his emotions and act accordingly. feelings are unpredictable, so obv u need to improvise.
try to gain sympathy first before going into the 2nd objective.
