Looks of an Angle Voice of a Goddess pt. 2
Draco x Muggleborn! reader
Warnings: bullying, uh, Diggory being a creep, Let me know if I missed anything else!
Hey guys! Have fun with this one! I hope you all enjoy it! I really hate Cedric Diggory, no clue why just do, lol.
It had been a few weeks since Draco and you had made your “deal”. You had enchanted a notebook that you could communicate back and forth in so that you could warm each other about when either Diggory or Pansy was headed their way or where they were on the move around.
Well, that's how the notebook started out. It quickly started to be a cheat sheet for the two of you during homework or study sessions. A quick scribble what the answer to number four was or what the correct pronunciation of a spell or word was. And that quickly evolved into something entirely.
Draco had continued to go to your performances, much to his disliking. No one had found out that he had been going, only you knew. You would meet him by the tree every time afterwards. Well, that was until a bad performance. You had missed the previous week because you hadn’t felt well, Draco knew it had been driving you insane being cooped up in your room while your friends got to perform. This week, you had been better but still not being at his best. You had insisted that you were going on. Draco hadn’t really concerned himself with it. But your friends and Diggory had made it a point that they thought it was a bad idea.
He leaned on the tree as he normally did and waited, a bit apprehensive, as you took your place on the stage. There were a few whistles from around the stage and you grinned, though he could still see you sniffle from your runny nose.
You began a low song that was slow and easy on your voice, but there was one section that you were particularly nervous about. You weren’t sure your voice could take it, but you were determined to do it. Well, determination isn’t everything. You cracked on the note but continued on with a smile. Nobody heard it, he had, but that's because when you two would talk outside of class all you did was talk about performing and singing. Everyone took their bow after that and he waited for you where he always did. But you never showed up.
He pulled the little notebook from his bag and quickly scribbled in it.
There was a long pause as if you were thinking about telling him.
He closed the book with a snap, ignoring the small light coming from the pages, telling him that you were writing.
He snuck through the curtain and walked around the deserted area until he found you sitting at a table with a mirror with some pictures and lights decorating it. He sat in the chair beside you silently and waited for you to talk, but you didn’t.
You hiccuped and hid your face in your hands, shaking. He put a hand to your back and rubbed it awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
“I can’t believe I did that/ It was humiliating!” You stuttered out.
“You did! How many other people did?”
“That's because you talk about music non-stop and I can pick up on that, thank you so much for that,” said sarcastically, hoping to get a small smile from you, and it worked for a moment. But, you face fell yet again
“God, that was so stupid. It wasn’t even that bad of a note!”
“Hey! Knock it off!” YOu snapped up. Looking at him with wide eyes. “It was bloody brilliant, you should be proud. Stop whatever you call this and get off the pity train, huh? You still went out there despite being sick, cracked once. Some people wish they could do the things you could! So stop being so pathetic, because you are amazing!” You stared at him before cracking a smile.
“You think I’m amazing?” he stared at you for a moment before standing and starting to walk away.
“Draco!” You laughed and ran to him, grabbing his arm and hanging on it with a smirk. He let you, not one to push you away. “Hey stop for a second.” he turned and looked at you. You smiled up at him, and he swallowed, why was his stomach on fire? “Thank you. It really means a lot.” He nodded and pulled you after him, getting out of the backstage area. The two of you thought you were alone, but you didn't notice the older Hufflepuff seething at the sight of you on Draco’s arm.
The weeks continued to move as fall froze to winter and winter melted to spring. You and Draco continued to become closer and used the notebook for a little more than homework and updates on people's movements. And with the seasonal changes, so were the emotional ones. Both you and Draco began to harbor tiny crushes on eachother which led to shameless flirts between the two of you.
Draco was desperate to tell you his feelings, but was afraid that the little flirts between each other were only friendly, you knew Draco like you and you needed him to make a move soon. You saw it as a game and refused to break first, though it was getting harder by the day, especially since it had been harder to keep Cedric at bay. He seemed to pop everywhere, even before Draco could reach his notebook. You had tried to explain to him your disinterest, but he just didn’t seem to take the hint. Ever.
It was nearing the end of the School year at that point and you had headed off to the Black Lake to meet Draco for a study session, though you both were definitely prepared to not study and fail Slughorn’s upcoming test.
“Y/N!” You groaned at the voice and turned around with a pleasant smile.
“Hi, Cedric. Can I help you with something?”
“Yeah, actually, I was hoping that you would actually go to Homestead with me this weekend.”
“Sorry, Cedirc, I actually have plans.” His pleasant smile fell into something darker.
“What do you mean you already have plans. Can’t you cancel them?”
“Sorry, Cedric. I already promised to meet my one friend for a study session.”
“WHat about today? Can I hang out with you today?”
“I’m actually headed to a study session, so if you would excuse me,” you started to turn but he latched onto your wrist tightly and spun you back around. You let out a yelp at his tight grip. “Cedric! Ow, you’re-you’re hurting me!”
“Why are you always studying? Every time I ask you to hang out you deny me. Why?” He yelled.
“I think she told you to stop.” Draco stood behind you with a scowl on his face, glaring daggers at Cedric. Cedric dropped your wrist, the force caused you to fly back into Draco. He easily caught you and you held your wrist, glaring at Cedric through your hair.
“This is who you’ve been denying me to hang out with. Him? That's just madness!”
“Well, it's better than hanging out with you!” you spat out. “Draco is at least nice!”
“You better get out of here before-”
“What? You make me?” Draco smirked.
“No. before she does.” He nodded down to your seething figure. Cedric threw another glare at the two of you before scampering away, back to the castle.
Draco held you tighter and looked down at you.
“Are you ok?” You sighed and fell into him more.
“As ok as I can be. Thank you, but you probably just ruined your reputation for me.”
“Your worth it.” You smirked and turned to face him, still in his arms.
“You know, you’re still holding me.” He smirked,
“And I don’t think I’m going to be letting go anytime soon.”
“Oh, really? And why’s that?” he leaned down and brushed his lips against yours.
“Because I like you.” You reached on your toes and pressed your lips together.
“Good. Because I would kill you if you liked anyone else.” He smirked wickedly.
“I think I’ve been a bad influence on you.”
You shrugged and backed away from him, running away.
He smiled as you laughed and ran down to the lake. He chased after you, watching your perfect hair bounce off your shoulders and listening to your melodious laughter.
You really were an angel with the voice of a goddess.
