Alex turned around in her bed for what felt like the hundredth time, trying to fall asleep again. She had been tossing and turning in her bed for about half an hour now and everyone in her dormitory was asleep except her. With a pronounced pout she sat up in her bed and looked around, wondering what to do. She reached towards her bedside table and picked up one of her many notebooks, this one full of sketches and random writings. She had just started drawing a bouquet of flowers when the sound of her stomach rumbling filled the room. With wide eyes, she looked around, making sure she hadn't awoken anyone; everyone was still asleep. She thought about ignoring the hunger, but that would only be worse. She didn't have any provisions in her room, as she had finished her last pack of Oreos a few nights ago, so it seemed like a trip to the castle kitchens would have to be done.
Trying to make as little noise as possible, she put on her favourite hoodie, one that had belonged to her father and still smelled slightly of him, and walked out of the dormitory. Her slipper-clad feet barely made any noise as she walked down the empty stairs and into the common room. Alexis would have expected it to be empty as well, seeing as it was well past bedtime, but one of the armchairs was occupied and a little light illuminated it and its surroundings. Afraid it would be a prefect or, even worse, the head boy, Alex slowly inched closer to the armchair silently, only to discover it was only Hongbin, one of the seventh years and a good friend of hers. With a smirk drawing upon her lips, Alex tiptoed as silently as she could, intending to sneak up on the other boy. "Boo!" She said once she was right behind the boy, placing her hands over his eyes. "Who's this?" She added a moment later, a soft giggle accompanying her words.
