Summary: When Rachel finds herself unable to control her powers while sleeping, you’re always there to reassure her.

Dating a half-demon, half-human superhero sounds like a hard thing to do, when really it's just like any other relationship… minus y’know… the uncontrollably evil demon thing and all.
“Rachel!” I whisper-shout, as a mix of black and purple clouds surround our shared bed like a tornado. She wakes up with a gasp, everything disappearing in a matter of seconds. “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?” She asks, with a worried look on her face. “No, I was just worried that you were going to hurt yourself.” I reply. She sits up, and rests her hand on her knees. I sit up and hug her from behind. “Tell me what you dreamt up.” I whisper as I press soft kisses in the crook of her neck. “It was about my father. He was trying to turn you into someone like me.” She confessed, reaching her hand back to play with my hair. “You know he can’t come back here.” I reassure. “It's not that simple, I could always accidentally let him out” She admits, furrowing her brows as we make eye contact. “You know we both won't let that happen” I claim, with a mockingly brave attitude. She chuckles as she grabs my jaw, pulling me in for a kiss. We melt into the kiss as we intertwine ourselves. “You’re lucky I have such a soft spot for you.” She jokes. “Whatever you say beautiful” I reply, smiling as I pin her to the bed and lay myself on top of her, full body weight and all. “Try and get some sleep.” She says quietly, caressing my hair as my head rests on her chest, hearing her heart beat for me. “Only if you promise that I’ll always be your soft spot.” I tease. “You already know you’re mine forever.” She teases back. “I love you.” I confess, as my eyes gently close. “I love you too, Princess” She replies, as she lies awake, continuing to caress my hair.

That was the last thing she heard as she passed through the stinging branches of trees and her eyes began to shut. That was the last thing she heard before she slammed straight into the ground.
Pair: Robin - Raven (DC's Teen Titans, but adults)
She had been the first to land on his planet. She had been the first to lay eyes on him and have his heart clutched. She had been the first to want to stick around.
Ever since then, she had always been the first to understand the plans, follow them through and upgrade them if required. She had been the most reliable, the most silent, the least troublemaking. And she stayed as such for him.
The odds remained against her, though. Silent, but unapproachable. Wise, but cold. Strong, but feared. Beautiful, but too dark. That was the mix called Raven. She was the perfect antinome for the Tamaranian ball of joy.
The first few weeks Raven was too uncertain and anxious to pay much mind to the other girl. However, as the team came together in the following months, she couldn’t control the occasional jealousy bubbling up in her guts. She stayed locked in her room unless her powers were required and reduced the interaction to the lowest.
In turns, her teammates worried about her. Was Raven sick? Was the inner demon finally acting up? Starfire was the first to voice her concern. She has always seen Raven as a friend and, considering Raven was never directly hostile towards her, Starfire believed she was viewed as a friend as well.
Unfortunately, Raven could no longer keep calm, as the image she saw daily was Robin doing something and Starfire being there, all loud and smiley, charming and winning him over. When the words “Robin and I worry about you” left Starfire’s mouth beyond the door, Raven snapped. Her fragile emotional state broke her mind’s balance and indeed the inner demon acted up. There were only two options: fighting the opponent ‘til death or switching dimensions for everyone’s sake.
Long years of meditation later, once composure regained, Raven allowed herself a short trip down memory lane. She smiled in the darkness of the planet she chose for isolation, and a rolling tear surprised her.
“I wonder what’s come of them? They were strong without me but I wonder…”
No harm could come of visiting Earth, she thought. A quick in and out of her old room in the Titan’s Tower – that is, if the tower was still standing. Not entirely on board with her own decision, the newly found concern set the girl into motion.
The portal opened at the first gesture and Raven smiled. It took her so little time to remember the destination… as if going home. She stepped through the mass of energy and gasped seeing the place in the exact same state she had left it.
After a few steps around, touching some of her old stuff, Raven felt company. She didn’t sense any spell, not any strange presence when she arrived, and if her room was preserved, it must’ve meant whoever was there wasn’t an enemy of the Titans.
“Raven, is that you?”
The girl could never mistake that voice, not even if it was slightly deeper. As much as she had missed him, Robin was the last person Raven was ready to see. The ever-present darkness in her bedroom was once more on her side, shielding her gesture of wiping the tears.
“Hi. Yeah, it’s me,” she answered, turning around.
Without any hesitation, Robin crossed the room and wrapped his now much bigger arms around Raven. Her head fit perfectly in the crook of his neck since as an adult, he wasn’t shorter than her anymore. One palm held her back and the other rested at the base of her skull.
“Robin…” she muttered, unable to move a muscle.
“I have been searching for you. I worried so much,” the man said, caressing her long hair.
“You have?”
“Of course, I have!” He exclaimed, pulling back from the hug to look at her.
Robin’s following questions regarding her state, recent whereabouts and the reason she had left without notice slipped Raven’s attention. She was too focused on the man’s unmasked face. Shy slim fingers reached up to his cheeks and reduced Robin to silence.
“Your mask… why?”
“There’s no one here anymore. No one to hide from.”
The news shocked the former Teen Titan. Instinctively, she lowered her hands to grab onto Robin’s, asking for explanations.
“Star returned home, Cyborg left to get some upgrades but I haven’t heard from him in a long while and Beast Boy, well.. Beast Boy is with Terra.”
“Why did you stay? Why didn’t you join the others?”
“I couldn’t keep our friends from leaving and you know I don’t like how the others operate. Besides, I could not leave you behind. For a while, we searched for you but it’s been years, Raven… They all tried to convince me you were either dead or never coming back. But they were wrong.”
Serious up until that moment, Robin allowed a smile to erase the sorrow from his face. Five fingers moulded on the curve of Raven’s cheek as he looked her right in the eyes. If only she hadn’t looked away.
“You came only to take your books, am I right?”
“No,” she sighed and ripped herself from the man’s closeness. “I missed you and I thought…”
“You thought I was here?” Robin asked, full of hope.
“I never expected any of you to be, actually.”
The girl travelled across the room, inspecting the familiar objects as a means to ease the tension.
“There is not a single grain of dust in this room. You hoped I would return?”
“Are you joking? Raven, I tried everything to find and bring you home. When I ran out of places to look I… I decided to try to maintain this a place where you’d come back. Foolish, I know. Yet here you stand.”
“It’s just a coincidence, Robin. The thought of you crossed my mind back there and… I just needed to know if you were ok. I shouldn’t have returned,” she admitted, sitting on the edge of the bed.
His eyes followed her from one spot to another. They arrowed down at her confession and he felt his heart cracking.
“There are no coincidences, Raven. You’re telling me you spawned on Earth at the exact time and place I was on that street?” Robin asked, closing the distance between them.
“What street?”
“Eight years ago. I saw you. I saw the look in your eyes. But you hid from me and then Star came out of nowhere.”
“Oh, yeah, she did,” Raven agreed, in a much more frustrated tone than she intended.
The reaction didn’t go unnoticed and Robin laughed.
“Please tell me you didn’t abandon us because of Starfire,” he pleaded, standing in front of Raven.
Instead of an answer, be it a lie or not, Robin was offered silence and a purple head tilted down.
“Raven…” he called in a soft voice.
This time, his hand cupped her knees as he squatted down to catch her eyes again.
Seeing him so gentle and affectionate with her, Raven thought he did it out of loneliness, or out of “Starfire was no longer there”, and it angered her.
“I did, ok?! She was so obviously into you! Everywhere you were, everything you did, she was breathing you in and out and I couldn’t stand it. I was so much better than her. I could’ve been exactly what you–...” then Raven paused.
She heard herself yelling awful things about a teammate, a friend who saved her and the team more than once.
“What am I saying? I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have…”
“I’ve never loved Starfire.”
Robin was still kneeling in front of the girl, with both hands covering her knees and a bright smile on his face.
“Don’t lie to me just because I’m in this state.”
“I’m not lying to you. But I also never knew how to approach you. I noticed the jealousy in your eyes. I have to admit that it made me feel awfully happy to learn you liked me too, yet… I was feeling inferior to you. I was powerless compared to many others and I didn’t want to become your weakness.
Raven was speechless. After all that time, all that suffering and all those nightmare-y scenarios her mind birthed, he came and just confessed.
“I should hit you so hard right now, Robin.”
“I’d rather you kissed me,” he corrected and laughed again.
“Really? How? The same way you never did?”
The range of emotions Raven’s soul was able to withhold wasn’t big, and switching from deep sadness to hope and then bashfulness in a matter of seconds did a number on her. She was smiling but tears came down her ivory face. Without acknowledging it, the girl rested her palms on Robin’s shoulders and played with her thumbs at the base of his neck.
“Can I do it now?” Robin asked.
She knew many languages but could respond in none. A nod of her head was the only answer she could give. Tired of holding back and waiting, Robin leaned in and kissed her. It didn’t take Raven much to give in to the joy and embrace the boy she had always wanted.
