Arkham Knight Riddler Headcanon: Edward was GCPD's best little cyber security expert, but really, that's what drove him around the bend to 'Enigma'. He kept seeing people walk. Sex slavers? Walk. Rapists? Walk. Snuff film makers? Walk. All because someone higher up the foodchain was profiting. So instead of going after all the little criminal hydra heads, he saw Batman doing the vigilante thing... and decided to do it himself. Only, he wanted the BIG FISH. Also, to murder them.

You know, I could see Eddie grousing about how inept the GCPD, especially when he worked for them. I don’t know how good of a cop or detective (in this verse anyway) he would have made, he would have only solved crimes to prove that he was doing it better than anyone else.

I mean, he probably wouldn’t morally care that a certain theif kept getting let go because of unsubstantial evidence, but what WOULD stick in his craw would be if those morons at the GCPD didn’t notice a key piece of evidence that totally pointed at the guy being the one whodunit.

With Ed, it’s always been more about being RIGHT than being IN the right, you see.

Azarello, wildly overrated - I don't defend Timm but i think most of the good work coming out of BTAS came from Dini anyway.

Eh, I’m an old fart. I grew up in the Transformers fandom, and lurked in the shadow of Harry Potter fandom. I’m used to people getting weirdly overemotional about fiction. 

Mainly I’m just annoyed because it’s on my lawn right now.
