years from the day of your birth

without the other person’s chest

what it would be like
to be held by that person
now that you both breath on your own
you know she would never agree
any sign of affection
is a sign
of weakness
.
but still
you wonder
as you find someone in the dark
and they hold you close
as their lips press against yours
you can feel how close their heart is
and the expanse of their chest
causes yours to retreat
but theirs
does the same when yours
pushes back
and like this
you feel
that maybe
this is what love is
breathing together

This one was one that I wrote on my phone a while back at like 2 in the morning before going to bed. It popped in my head and I had to write it down, I have the horrible habit of forgetting topics I want to write about if I don't write it down, something that I want to get in the habit of not doing. I finally decided to write it out and put it up to be read.
