Ray Combs always dreamed of opening his own comedy club, but when it finally happened, the comedy boom was about to implode. 1991 was the worst possible year to open a comedy club. The Cincinnati club was ambitious - a 500 seat theater that provided limo rides for the comics to and from their fancy condo on the hill. No matter how low on the totem pole, Combs treated the comics right. But going the extra mile meant financial ruin as the bottom fell out of the comedy club craze. Hundreds of comedy clubs shut down simultaneously just as Ray Combs’ Comedy Connection opened.
Ray Combs owned two different Ohio comedy clubs - CaddyCombs and The Cincinnati Comedy Connection
