If you’re wondering about Ray’s lack of red hair, he has naturally dark hair! He just let it grow back to its natural color once Hudson went missing and dyes it back to red sometime in the aftermath au timeline (obv this takes place before that)
⟡ Smoker. Cigarettes specifically, he doesn’t like how cigars smell
⟡ Loves making little origami flowers/animals for people, especially Hudson*… He gets sidetracked from his work making them
⟡ Interested in paranormal stuff but was always more intrigued with cryptids
⟡ Never quite recovered from that one time Hudson was dared to put on a dress and makeup
⟡ Doesn’t really express any femininity until after the cycle… He shows interest but never openly does it cause of the time period
⟡ Doesn’t have a set way of drawing each cartoon character… he changes little details about them every time he draws them

⟡ Stopped dying his hair red; just let his hair grow back in to its normal color
⟡ Played detective for a while but never gathered enough evidence that Joey/Sammy were directly involved with Hudson’s death
⟡ Insomnia picked up and he started struggling with nightmares
⟡ Accidentally got guilt-tripped into some sort of hookup with another girl and crashed out the next day because “wtf am I doing I still love Hudson”

𖤐 Customized somehow…? His design is still rough, but he’s got a way to tell him apart from the others
𖤐 Was never really violent… He just sort of kept around Artist’s Rest/Animation Alley
𖤐 Sort of like Jack, he picked up random things and kept ‘em. He had a little collection of random trinkets stashed away somewhere
𖤐 Didn’t retain much of his memories; vaguely remembered Hudson and knew he’d lost him and needed to find him
𖤐 Would maybe provide some sort of side quest in the game? Like he has a part needed and wants to make some sort of trade for another item
𖤐 Never really met up with Hudson… even if he did, his memory was fuzzy and Hudson was…a lil violent… ‘not sure if either would recognize each other in their new forms

Aftermath AU
⟢ Takes a really long time to recover after escaping the cycle
⟢ Everyone stays at Henry’s house for a while; Ray and Hudson share a room upstairs
⟢ His chest is scarred from his pre-cycle injuries and his lungs are weaker. He can’t smoke anymore and sometimes has coughing fits/chest pain
⟢ Super clingy after finally getting Hudson back… a lil bit codependent, quite frankly
⟢ Kind of freaked out the first few times he lost Hudson within the house, he’s real desperate to not lose him again
⟢ Didn’t leave the house for a while after they settled into the Stein’s house
⟢ [Hudson, at some point, got a job with the local newspaper]… Ray was very against this at first. He hated the idea of Hudson leaving him at home all day, but he knew this was another step in recovery for the man, so he didn’t stop him
⟢ ↑ adding onto that, I’d imagine he eventually gets a job doing comics with the same newspaper
⟢ Once he’s healed enough to get into relatively normal habits, Ray would start expressing himself through art
⟢ Gets closer with Norman, who’s gotten into photography and definitely hasn’t set up a small dark room in one of the Stein’s closets
⟢ Adores being the subject of Norman’s photos. He gets all dolled up and then shows them off to Hudson when they’re done
⟢ Starts expressing himself more femininely; wears makeup when he goes out and will wear women’s clothing every so often
⟢ Eventually dyes his hair back to red; maybe experiments with colors a bit… he seems like he’d do something fun like peacock or calico colors
⟢ I haven’t expanded on it a lot, but I think he’d eventually move out of Henry and Linda’s house with Hudson and maybe get another house with Jack & Norman, maybe Paul* & Gillis as well :3c
