how the characters of girls (hbo) feel about taylor swift

SHOSHANNA: massive swiftie. went to the eras tour three times. loves her lyrics as much as her business acumen. the life of a showgirl was an instant fave for her.

HANNAH: likes her older stuff. found the whole girlsquad really annoying and lost interest around reputation.

MARNIE: found her first few albums a little childish, and completely lost interest when she started her relationship with desi. rediscovered her during her divorce and became a fan (though she wouldn’t admit it).

JESSA: absolutely not a fan. thinks swifties are only fans because their music taste is limited. the boring girl’s fiona apple.

ADAM: had not heard of taylor swift until either one of his lesbian friends introduces him to gaylorism or shoshanna plays her on the way to fetch jessa from rehab. either way, he finds her uninteresting

RAY: thought her first few albums were interesting, thought red was a revelation (though not open with these opinions). was elated when folklore and evermore came out because taylor was briefly an indie darling (cardigan was playing on repeat in his coffee shop). disappointed with her post-evermore output

DESI: taylor represents everything desi hates about the music industry: the rewarding of conventional attractiveness, basic pop, and lack of grit/realness in her lyrics.

ELIJAH: annoyed by taylor’s public persona since her early-career gasping at awards wins. readily admits the power of her pen and calls her a great lyricist.

So I'm watching the HBO show, Girls, and I absolutely love it. I obviously was curious about it for Adam Driver. He is an excellent actor and while I love his character as Adam Sackler, I'm kind of crushing on Alex Karpovsky as Ray.

Also I just watched Adam Driver holding a baby, looking at it affectionatly, and singing in a goofy voice, "You're my little pumpkin pop!" And I think my ovaries just exploded. He is too adorable.
