I like how Heart's color is blue and Fang's color is generally white and those two colors together are what's often used to portray water— which is one of the film’s central themes and very significant in Southeast Asia (water dragons, most of SEA having tropical climate with rainy & sunny seasons, etc.)

And the fact that the film revolves a lot around Raya, who's the princess of Heart, and Namaari, who's the princess of Fang, and their conflict and relationship with each other

How do you envision a rayaari childhood crushes AU would go?

this question has been in my inbox for some time. sorry for the late reply. i spent a lot thinking about this.

how i would envision rayaari's childhood?

since both are princesses and dragon nerds and the fact that they have a crush on each other, raya and namaari will form a really strong bond.

namaari and raya will tell their parents that they want to visit each other's land every week. they'll be the type to sneak out from time to time. when one of them finds a place related to the dragons, they'll invite one another to visit that location. sometimes they'll be caught by chief benja or chief virana.

they'll also do cute silly things, like having baby tuktuk and namaari's baby serlot go on a race to see who's faster, or climb trees to fetch fruits they'll share to eat.

heart and fang are known rivals, so some other kids will pick on them or talk behind their backs. but raya and namaari are always there to protect each other

other than the dragon pendant, namaari likes to give raya more dragon related items. one time, namaari tried to create a mini dragon statue from clay/wood. it was clumsy, but raya loved it so much anyway and put it on display in her bedroom

namaari likes to laugh at raya's jokes and raya loves to make namaari laugh, especially because raya get to see namaari's dimples when namaari smiles, which raya adores so much.

raya and namaari also love to hold each other's hands
