One of my least favorite things about not remembering most of what's happened in my life (especially the bad stuff) is that whenever I encounter something that brushes up against a bad memory but doesn't cause me to remember what that bad memory is, I just kind of have to guess at why I'm reacting this way to something perfectly ordinary. Like yeah this cologne smells nice. Not sure why my body's half freaking out over it, tho. Anyone else in front want to play detective?
with pjo getting popular again I'm really worried about people forgetting that rick riordan is a straight man and start lauding him as like. a cornerstone of gay lit again
I find it funny how most system/plural headcanons tend to fall into one of two categories:
The character(s) that are already basically a canonical system if you think about them for more than two seconds but that singlets don't notice somehow, despite all the examples in popular media
"I have/am a fictive of them so they're plural now"
Have you ever felt the need to put incredibly specific and/or tiring disclaimers on your system related posts because you just know someone's going to misinterpret what you say to hell and back? The same is true for us! So, we decided to make these banners that you can put at the end of your posts to let others know that, yes, you have considered whatever off-topic complaint they've pulled out of thin air, and no, it's not relevant to your post.
All banners have been given an image description in their alt texts, but under the cut are copies of these IDs so that you can just copy and paste them [into alt text] if you plan to use these yourself.
We hope these are useful for other systems! Free to use without credit – and if you have any ideas for more, send them our way! We'd be happy to make more disclaimers for those highly specific system moods/posts.
Image descriptions for each banner, going in order from first to last:
A banner colored in shades of brown. To the left is a section with a black and dark brown treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a dark brown outline that reads: This post is based on personal experiences of being a system, and is not meant to be reflective of all systems. The background of the banner is cream.
A banner colored in shades of red. To the left is a section with a black and dark red treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a dark red outline that reads: This post is focused on disordered experiences, but the poster supports non-disordered systems. The background of the banner is dull red.
A banner colored in shades of yellow. To the left is a section with a black and dark yellow treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a dark yellow outline that reads: This post is about stereotypes, not personal negative experiences with having a dissociative disorder or being a system. The background of the banner is light yellow.
A banner colored in shades of green. To the left is a section with a black and dark green treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a dark green outline that reads: This post is salty and/or a vent about plural experiences but is not meant to be taken at face value or as a dig at other systems. The background of the banner is mint green.
A banner colored in shades of cyan. To the left is a section with a black and cyan treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a cyan outline that reads: This post is sarcastic and/or a joke about plural experiences but is not meant to be taken at face value or as a dig at other systems. The background of the banner is pale turquoise.
A banner colored in shades of blue. To the left is a section with a black and dark blue treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a dark blue outline that reads: This post is focused on traumagenic system experiences, but the poster supports endogenic systems. The background of the banner is light blue.
A banner colored in shades of purple. To the left is a section with a black and dark purple treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a dark purple outline that reads: This post is focused on disordered traumagenic system experiences, but the poster supports non-disordered and endogenic systems. The background of the banner is lavender.
A banner colored in shades of pink. To the left is a section with a black and dark pink treble clef overlayed on top of faint gray plural rings. To the right is white text with a dark pink outline that reads: This post has general musings that are not meant to be discourse related. Do not use this post as a "gotcha" in discourse. The background of the banner is light pink.
So, one of our members – Saishu – gave himself a pretty plain description when he was setting up Pluralkit. And one of the two sentences that he decided to write in it is "My main defining character trait is liking black nail polish with sparkles"
and then he proceeded to have the biggest sexuality + gender crisis any of us have had since the body was fourteen. It's technically still ongoing, even if he's mostly accepted his current identity as what best describes him
It's like
"ah yes, I am a rather plain person. Nothing much going on here" *cut to him screaming about his complicated identity*
so most of our ranboos don't really change their name, but when they do sometimes I end up genuinely believing the actual streamer goes by those names HAHWHSHA. or like we have a generation loss ranboo but his name is Aiden and since he came here before genloss was aired on twitch, while watching it I kept genuinely believing his name was aiden 💀
shoutout to aiden and james, who whenever ranboo even gets close to saying those names lose their shit.
Source divergent fictive? No. The source is the divergent one now, the fictives are just hanging out
"How do you function with so many members fronting?" How do you function with so few?
Really though, we just work better like this, and the idea that we can't "really" be co-fronting so often is just downright bizarre to us. Not that we see it that often, but a disappointing amount of fakeclaiming focuses around systems with large numbers in anything, from switches to total members to details they can give about their inner world. It is absolutely ridiculous.
Fronting is a team effort and we try not to leave it like the stereotypical group project where only one of us does all the work. Maybe others work better with different workload systems, but not us! And we're not about to worsen our functioning for some internet strangers who probably wouldn't respect us anyway.
"people are faking being systems for a trend" damn I wish that was the case, maybe then I'd see more people writing fiction about systems that I can enjoy instead of digging through the same few fics and short stories several times looking for anything new I might like
{This post is salty + partly a vent but okay to reblog.}
