using oils to help clear up skin ✨
So I broke out on my chin last weekend, which is in my opinion one of the worst places to break out on your face. And usually, I try to drink more water and continue with my daily routine for my face and just let it heal by itself but this time I tried something different and thought I would share! :)
I started adding coconut oil into my face routine and dabbed it on my problem areas usually at night or after I finished washing my face. Coconut oil has so many great benefits and I use it routinely as a hot oil treatment for my hair and to shave my legs and it always leaves my skin and hair feeling amazing, so I thought why not try it on my acne? Coconut oil is anti inflammatory so when you use it on your acne it reduces the inflammation from your pimples and it’s also rich in Vitamin E which helps clear any blockage from sebum glands. So basically, it’s like super good for your skin. ♥
When I started using it, I immediately noticed the next day that my pimples were less red and they also seemed smaller in size/less noticeable which also makes it easier to cover up with make up if you need a super quick fix/are going out, ect. However, it’s also important to note that coconut oil won’t work for everyone, especially people who might have cystic acne or oily skin. This is because coconut oil has a higher ratio in olecic acid than linoleic acid. And when we have oily congested or acne prone skin, it’s usually predominantly composed of olecic acid while our skin’s natural sebum is composed mostly of linoleic acid. That’s why sometimes if you search online you read and hear about people breaking out from using coconut oil and that’s because their skin is already high in olecic acid and they’re essentially just using more of that stuff on their face.
So if you still want to try incorporating essential oils in your daily routine and your skin falls more on the acne prone/oily side, it’s important to try oils that are higher in linoleic acid instead of olecic so you can create a balance.
Oils that are higher in linoleic acid include: Safflower Oil, Black Cumin Seed Oil, Evening Primrose, Rosehip Seed Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Soybean Oil.
Oils that are somewhat balanced in linoleic acid and olecic acid: Coconut oil, jojoba oil, flaxseed oil, argan oil
(You can see all their ratio percentages here.)
And as always with trying anything on your skin/acne you want to try it out on a trial area to make sure it doesn’t have any adverse effects on your skin. Also please note that when purchasing oils you always want to buy the real organic stuff and not the stuff that’s genetically modified! You also don’t want to completely depend on oils to clear up your skin and continue with your daily face routine as well.
Hopefully this helps someone out. :)

Happy Birthday, @rayskendra!!!!
i feel like that break up between ray/kendra was actually quite mature and well done. like people were saying it was rushed and maybe ray was being emotional and impulsive at first but like. he went to tell kendra how he felt at the end of the episode so actually it was really well done. he didn't make it about carter. he made it about them. what she meant to him. so all in all it was really well done.
not only that but i think ray’s impulsivity was also sort of like. he wanted kendra to be happy, and you can almost tell at the end of the episode that she’s sort of waiting for him to take her back or at least make a move and when he doesn’t she’s literally crushed. because ray thinks carter is what will make her happiest, so he’s trying to give them both the space to move on. how dare they do this to me
