“Fools!  These eggs are more precious than you know!”

This line of Razorgore’s has always intrigued me, and I think it planted the seed way back in vanilla that later became some of my headcanons and fanfics. 

I’m sure there’s not meant to be any deeper meaning behind it than merely “we’re trying to create a chromatic dragonflight here so we can use it for our evil purposes” but something about a member of the black dragonflight calling eggs “precious” made me feel bad about destroying their eggs.  

This was just reinforced in the novel “Beyond the Dark Portal” where Turalyon, Khadgar, and the others hesitate to destroy the eggs in the Blade’s Edge hatchery.  Turalyon says: “Dragons are sentient creatures. They think, they feel. It’s one thing to fight the drakes, but–these are infants. Just…babies, really. They can’t even fight back. And we’d be butchering them.” (page 339)

Razorgore’s dialogue also hinted at how much was going on in BWL that we mortals never learned about.  That got my imagination going, which is a very dangerous thing.  ;)

What if the reason Razorgore can sleep dragonspawn is because he's actually a Green Dragonspawn that Nefarian experimented on to turn into a Black one?

And that's why they have him under constant mindcontrol, because while they've made him accept the eggs as his charge, he's royally fucking pissed off at everything else and/or been left entirely unhinged by the experiments.
